: Power Commanders
Alchemist 11-25-2002, 10:45 PM I rang K&N Powersports this morning. They only have 569 units of the PC3 with GSXR600K base map so you better hurry graemlins/laugh.gif
They will charge us US$130 a go graemlins/bounce.gif sinceits being exported(no group discount - bloody cheap anyway) and their order phone number is 1800 858 3333.
Can I get one before 12/12 ?, doubt it but we'll see. PS who can recommend a decent dyno tuner for a custom map ?
SyMBi0TiK 11-26-2002, 08:50 AM oi alchemist...
you can have mine if you want...
sill in the box and everything...
then when yours arrives you can give it to me...
there is nothing wrong with mine... i just dont have my full system for a few weeks and i am not getting a custom map for my bolt on and i havent been able to find someone elses for a setup like mine... its just so you can have it come track day... but you will it have it by the 12th man...
mine came in like 2 weeks max...
ausgixxer600 11-27-2002, 02:55 AM Hi Alchemist,
Is K&N Motorsports an Aussie company? Sounds heaps cheap.
You can try Trevor at Doin Bikes Phone No.9724-9288. (Lansvale). They have a dyno and he is a certified Dynojet tuner. I have heard only good things about them.

Alchemist 11-27-2002, 03:25 AM Aussiegixxer600 - thanks for the tip. I'll contact Doin Bikes and see what they can do.
K&N Motorsports is a US based company in California. Sorry, I should've pointed that out. You need the ol 0011 1 in front of the number.
SyMBiOTiK, thanks for the proposal. I actually won't get time to do it now anyway, so dyno tune etc will have to wait till after Xmas. So no rush then graemlins/thumbup.gif
dbeecroft 11-30-2002, 05:25 AM How much carriage are they charging to send you your powercommanders?
When I enquired earlier in the year they wanted $90.00 images/icons/shocked.gif to ship to the U.K.
Hope the sun is shining on you down there cos it definately isn`t here. images/icons/grin.gif
SyMBi0TiK 11-30-2002, 06:43 PM oi alchemist...

Yeah, I'm going to wait till after Xmas for the mapping. Probably buy the PC though. Just spent $230 on a back protector, so I also now need new leathers.
Repsol_Movistar 12-02-2002, 05:01 AM how long is this offer open for? i would buy one right this second but i have some serious stuff happening in the pipeline so i cant right now images/icons/frown.gif
SyMBi0TiK 12-02-2002, 03:35 PM alchemist...

im in the same boat...<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I'm going to get custom leathers. Last set from Quin cost me about $1300 ten years ago and they are still excellent for the road. I've just got fat and they don't have enough room for track work.
I don't like the idea of measuring and delivering over the net a la Tiger Angel. Great product I'm just paranoid.
I'm going to try Peel leathers or Insex and see what they charge, let you know. Maybe we can get a discount for 2 sets ? graemlins/thumbup.gif
SyMBi0TiK 12-03-2002, 05:18 PM yeah sounds good...
i need them by the 12th as well...
Alchemist 12-03-2002, 05:41 PM SyMBiOTiK, we ain't getting by the 12 th. Custom leathers will take about 6-8 weeks to make. Tiger Angel are around $1900-2200.
Peels will do plain colour leathers for $1800. If we order 2 they will do flashy graphics etc for the same price (normally $1950).
Both are heaps better than off the rack for quality and fit and still cheaper the Dainese.
You'll need to get gear for 12/12 though.
SyMBi0TiK 12-03-2002, 05:46 PM yeah i know...
i dont know where im going to get leathers for the 12th from...

You can have anything you want, a Dainese copy in fact.
culler 12-03-2002, 08:20 PM I've seen Peel stuff too, not as garish as Tiger Angel, but B.O.R.I.N.G. images/icons/smile.gif
IMHO current Dainese styles suck too, none of their products are particular nice looking.
Only Spidi, and to a lesser extent, Alpinestars and Spyke (and only on certain models) seem to be coming up with stylish designs at the moment, but like you say, its all personal, I just hate Tiger Angel designs.
(It doesn't help that a mate of mine here has a set of Tiger Angels, and he ordered it in bright fluoro red, bright fluoro green and white, stupid Welsh git images/icons/grin.gif )
SyMBi0TiK 12-04-2002, 05:56 PM i want to buy spidi but very expensive and i doubt i could find one that fits...
culler 12-04-2002, 07:03 PM You know I'm just stirring images/icons/smile.gif You can't go wrong with Tiger Angel or Peels, good leathers aren't cheap in general anyway. (Though a little style isn't a bad thing)
