Can anyone please post pics of their lowering straps mounted. I have an 05 600 and i got a lowering strap from Schnitz Racing, but i want to make sure i mount it properly at the caliper and how it route over top. Thanks

Most lowering straps i have seen one side of the strap connects to the front brake caliber by screwing out the top bolt that goes to the caliber take that bolt from the caliber and slide it through the hole on the strap and then tighten the bolt back down securing the strap tight, and then run the strap over the tripple tree and then just follow the procedures as you did on the other caliber when mounting the strap, hope this helps you out !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well i look at the caliper and it doesn't look like the brakcet can fit in the recessed area where the head of the bolt goes.

I don't know if you know but DO NOT use straps on the street - drag strip only... They cancel out (at least partially) the front suspension meaning you can lose traction very easily in turns

You can leave them still hooked on your bike, the only thing you do not want to do is have it tight all the time while your riding on the street, this lowering strap was designed to lower the front end prior to drag racing, without doing any kind of mods to your forks on your bike, hope this help you out !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know all of this, i am only going to use them on the strip, and i know their function, that's why i bought them. But i want to put them on properly. I want to see how they are mounted on people bikes. What angle are you the tabs that mount on the capliper bolt; which direction do you have then go over the triple tree.

I just want to see exactly how some of you have mounted them using the caliper bolt, and how you route the strap over the top and back to the other caliper.

Does your bike have radial calipers? If so you will need special brackets.Brock is making them.Go to

You want them to point up and outward. Here is a picture of them on my Bandit. The bolt is too close to the fork to rotate straight up, so they go back more than up as you can see in this picture

Edit: This was when I first put my straps on. They are bolted in the bottom bolt, but I have since moved them to the top. You should use the top bolt unlike what the picture is showing.

I think the radial calipars are only on the 1000's, in which case you will need an adaptor bracket than can also be purchased from Schnitz Racing. Hope this helps

No "need" for a special bracket. Just take the top mount bolt out of the caliper, put the bolt through the strap and put the bolt back in. Then over the triple tree like suggested.
Yes you are correct it will not fit inside the recessed area. the strap end is to large. but the bolt is plenty long enough to still work. I wouldn't suggest this if it were a permanent mod. but it will work just fine for some passes down the strip, and then pull it back off before the ride home. Takes about 10 min of your time.

Thanks, that helps since you have a 05 750 which is basically the same. Now, with routing the strap over the top, does it come up back side of the clips then wrap around in front of the top of the forks then back behind the other clip on? I edited a pic of my bike with a line that i think represents where it is supposed to route. Let me know if this is right.
