I have a limited budget (just bought a house) and I have a gsxr1000 '05. My bike came with a yosh trs slip on but that is the only thing that has been done. Everything else is absolutely stock. If i have to do things one at a time what would be the next best step to increase HP?

Learn how to ride the bike first. I'm sure you can't push it to the levels anyway. Invest some money by taking it to the track..

bwaaaaaaaaaahahahaha luv ya work. "Hold it pinned............ ride safe" . Hahaha That is great.
a slip on and mapping will give you pretty good gains on the 05/06 Gixxer so to get the best from your slip on, I'd get it mapped. Then get suspension work done , that'll make you much quicker than another 5-8h.p will.

I hear you guys talking about the mapping, the suzuki dealer remapped my stock pc, will a power commander make much differance? It was night and day with my TL1000r, but the TL could not be mapped from the beginning.
