Its been a while since i posted anything on this board and there is a good reason for it.... The NYPD had my bike and I was too depressed to even look at this site. Anyway I just wanted to warn NYC riders about a prick highway patrol cop. I don't want to mention any names because i'm still going to CRIMINAL court for something i didn't even do!!!!
Heres how it started. I hooked up with a guy on SBN (when it was around) and we planned a trip to hook up with some riders from NJ. I met him and his bud on the southern state parkway and we headed north on the Cross Island. We were about a mile away from our exit when i saw a cop heading south. Thats right SOUTH.. the opposite direction!!!! With a 3 ft concrete barrier between us. We got up the marina (for those of you who know the area) 2 cop cars pulled out and went after another bike who passed us. 1 cop stopped in the middle of the road and pulled over the last bike in our group. (the other guy and i did not know he got pulled over) We kept riding till we got to the exit for the 1st bridge and stopped. We waited for the other guy for about 10 min. we didnt know what happened to him. So the dude i was with went back to see what happened. i waited for about 5 more min, and decided to go. Next thing i know theres like 10 cops around me. What the fuk. I had to follow them back to where the other guys were. Guess what happened next. We were all placed under arrest for reckless driving, reckless endangerment and speeding.?! Speeding? We were in a staggered formation in the middle lane following a car. The cop said we were going 105 in a 50. That lying prick. No radar. No tailing. Nothing. So now im out 500 for a lawyer so far. 400 for towing the bike. 150 for the other guys lawyer who got us out of jail that night. and to top it all off the NYPD were now the proud owner of my brand new 2002 gixxer 750. I got real lucky and the cop dropped the civil sute so i got my bike back with minor scratches. Thanks to my frame sliders. The other guy wasnt so lucky. He also had a brand new bike, a 2002 R1. He didnt have frame sliders and the bike was totaled. The clutch cover was worn down and all the oil leaked out. The police impound yard had to be one of the most depressing places to be. As you get up to the cage where they keep the bikes you come across a red duk cracked in half. All of the bike i saw were fuked up. According to the cop who pulled me over, he impounded 120 bikes that summer. (I was pulled over in early sept.)
I now have to go to trial for this shit. I don't even want to know my lawyers hourly fee graemlins/crying.gif
Well thats enough of my ranting. I just had to vent.
and by the way for those of you New Yorkers who dont know, when the cops take away your bike like this they have the option to DESTROY it. So no matter how much of a prick the cop is be nice. We were and thats the reason he said he dropped the civil sute.
