Glad to hear you are going to take the MSF class. Registration is Jan 4. Word to the wise...GET THERE EEEEEAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYY. Only 250 spots and last time over 1500 showed up. It is first come first serve. I will be there around 3 or 4 AM. Since registration is at 8Am. If you want to meet up there and hang out for a few hours, PM me or e-mail me @ rlakatos@go.com.

3 or 4 AM?? That is crazy. I know I showed up around 7 AM, but this was also the summer of 2000. There were a few people ahead of me but it wasn't too bad. I would say about a third of the slots were filled by the time I got in. I also took it at Polaris. You might want to sign up for one later in the spring when it is a little warmer, because you are out there rain/hot/cold doesn't matter. I would just hate to be out on the range when it is pushing 40 in a downpour. When the final test comes around and they say you have to do something in a certain amount of time. Fuck it, do it casually at your own pace because they will pass you anyhow. This is how I fucked up, I was on a trail bike with knobby tires on a wet ass parking lot (downpour) tried to do the obstacle the right way, lowsided and immediately failed. Then I watched for a couple minutes and these old ladies were literally walking their bikes through and taking 5-6 seconds for an obstacle that was supposed to be I think it was like 2.3 seconds. This was after I got nothing but praise for my riding ability, and was doing wheelies and burnouts when the instructors weren't looking to keep myself interested. I'll be honest, I was riding for about 2 years before I took the class and it was a joke. If you are a beginner/first time rider it is an excellent class, but if you have a couple years on the road you won't learn much on the range, maybe a thing or two in the classroom but I am being honest when I say I walked out of there bored and unsatisfied (especially since I failed) and I didn't walk in there with the "I know it all" attitude either.
