I am familiar with turbos on cars, but need info about putting on on an 03 1000.

Is it merely a matter of working up wastegate, piping, and oil to turbo?

...or do you need bigger injectors, ecu and more? I have the PC3usb already.

I've never seen pics of the intake on a turbo 1k. Do people just pipe the air into the carbs?

any links or pics would be great.

I weld for a living, so if it's just a matter of piping, I may go ahead and do it sometime.

Well usually on that small of a turbo, the wastegate will be internal so problem solved, but with that becareful, because its harder to control low boost levels, or else you could bypass that and run an external gate.... You need to have oil lines routed correctly, and a drain back to pan if your turbo is too low, you MUST run an inline pump to get the oil out of the turbo and back to the sump....

As for the fuel part, you shouldnt need bigger injectors, just an upgraded pump would be good, and a tune for a turbo.... To set the right map, I would also recommend a wideband commander, or some variation of a wideband o2 sensor for proper tuning and that 400 setup could save your motor.

Richard from RCC turbos makes and airbox for the 1000 you could also easily fab up your own, nothing to them really, just plumb up a line from your compressor discharge (easiest setup would be compressor discharge and airbox inlet on left side of bike)

You also need to do some motor work, such as low compression turbo pistsons. Or some variation of lowering c/r.
