I am afraid I am going to down-shift and not give it enough gas and then make the bike jump forward. Can anyone give me the down-shift points on a GSXR 600? Or a way to find it out on my own.

hmmm your post is kinda confusing. do you mean so you dont get that initial hard slow down when you downshift, or are you afraid you will give TOO much gas and the front will want to jump?

either way you just have to ride and get a feel for where your rpm's are. just remember that when you downshift, your rpms will be higher after the shift so raise your rpms a little bit then shift graemlins/thumbup.gif it will come to you pretty quickly

Yep - you could either mean that you don't blip the throttle properly, causing the rear wheel to temporarily lock up, or you could mean that you're afraid you'll drop your revs too much in between gear changes, allowing the bike to dog, but then lurch forward once the revs come back up.

Either way - no easy answer other than to get out and practice your gear changes until they come smooth and natural. Just do it where you can learn - where there won't be dire consequences if/when you mess up a bit. Like a parking lot.

as said above, practice in a parking lot. My suggestions, would be make sure you give it more gas then less, easier said then done. buuut you dont want to lock that rear tire up, should you use to little gas. too much you might wheelie, but much more likley to pull out of it, doubt you will ever give it that much gas though. give us more details on what you mean. bye the way, im in st.louis too, how have you been riding images/icons/grin.gif except for today it has been cold as fuck, glad to hear one of us has taken advantage of our temp. heat- wave.
