What lost the game was on Texas' last drive before VY scored. VY threw a wounded duck in the air, and instead of having a easy pick, the USC defensive back decided to knock the ball down. An interception woulda killed the drive, and Texas's momentum, and it woulda been gametime.

As far as penalties, those can't be reviewed, and I have to admit that it was strange to see a game with NO holding calls. And Leinart did throw an interception that was ruled an incomplete pass after review. But I believe the refs gave that one back with the catch and fumble on Texas. It was reviewed and ruled an incomplete pass. The thing that pisses me off is that CF brought back review for situations like this, and it wasn't used properly. Pete holds some responsibility for not calling time out and let the officials talk it over.

I've kept quiet for a while on this subject, but enough is enough. This is one of the reasons that I really didn't want Texas to win. Ya'll win your first National Championship in forever, now ya'll think you own the country. Stop acting like Texas dominated SC or something. Everybody in the country knows if LenDale White gets that first down, USC squats on the game, and we're having a totally different discussion here.

Texas is a great team. They played a great game. They deserved to win. So did SC. VY played an amazing game, and he is a special player. I have no problems giving credit where credit is due. There were bad and questionable calls throughout the game, but that's football. In a game where two teams are as evenly matched and SC and Texas were, a lot of times the victory goes to the team that gets the biggest breaks, and that was Texas. That's the way it goes. You talk about holding? In the game of football, there is holding by the offensive line every play, so I'm not trying to hear that.

Texas fans are steady discounting our accomplishments and what we've done over the last few years and that's ok. Kinda classless if you ask me. This is coming from a school that has been 2nd fiddle in their own conference behind Oklahoma for the last 4-5 years. Not only have we accomplished more than you have over the last 4 years , but our history, accomplishments and tradition period, overshadows yours by a bunch. Aside from the streak, we've only lost 4 games in 4 years. We've got 7 Heisman trophies sitting in Heritage Hall. 3 out of the last 4 Heisman winners have come from Troy. We've won more Heismans in 4 years than UT has won in 112 years total (2). Why are Texas fans steady dissing and disrespecting a program that you are trying to become? How can you discount anything that we've done over the years? Other than Notre Dame, WE are the most storied program in college football. You've got 4 National Championships in football. Good job. We've got 11. And I'm willing to bet that we will win another before you do. If VY leaves, you can kiss your chances of a NC, hell even a BIg 12 championship next year goodbye.

So with that said, Texas needs to celebrate the win because it was long overdue. Again, Texas played a great game, they are a great team, and they deserved to win. We've won more Heismans in 4 years than UT has won in 112 years total (2). Why are Texas fans steady dissing and disrespecting a program that you are trying to become? I wasn't talking about going on 4th and 2, that was inevitable. If he didn't go for it and Texas scored after the punt, everyone would've been on his ass. Well, let me modify my comments a bit. The offence made some stupid ass mistakes which led to him making stupid ass mistakes. The one that sticks in my mind the most is the way he just wasted timeouts in the 2nd half. For the record... going for it at mid field on 4th and 2 to ice the game when you have the #1 offense in the nation and your defense hasn't been doing real well is the RIGHT call regardless of the outcome. It sucks it didn't pan out but you all would be calling him a genius if they had gotten the 2 yards. It was the right call and in the end Texas won by a single great play with time running out. It was a great game for the duration and neither team has anything to be embarrassed of. We might have watched a college game with half a dozen players that will start in the NFL next season... nothing to be ashamed of there.
