Anybody going to the Ca. Speedway Aug. 4 Trackday. I had posted a question about my first track day before, and you guys came up with some great info. We are gonna do the school in the morning, and move up as they let us. Any of you "Track Studs" gonna go? Would like to bounce some "Rookie" questions" off you before we go. Like, Tires?, whats good, and can we get them at the track? Should we bring a tent? How early should we get there if the school starts at 7? And how many sessions should we expect to get in?

I like either the supercorsa's, or the Rennsports..I'd start with the either the med. compound, or the street..once again depending on how hard you ride.. images/icons/grin.gif Don't know if ya can get them at CS..I know Trackside Services has them at Buttonwillow, and Willowsprings.. graemlins/thumbup.gif

Yep, anything that will provide shade is a good thing.. graemlins/thumbup.gif

If the school starts at 7am..I'd think you'd wanna be there around 6:30..or earlier..

How many sessions..depends on how fit you are.. graemlins/laugh.gif You'd be surprised at how much energy riding take outta ya..and it depends on how many groups they have..?? that's why I like trackdaz..they only have 2 groups..so ya get lots of track time.. graemlins/thumbup.gif

hammer is all right (he's kinda turnin into a so.cal track-day "tramp" images/icons/shocked.gif ) HE GETS AROUND!! get there about an hour early so ya dont have to rush graemlins/thumbup.gif also get alot of rest the day & night before cuz 1 day at the track in the sun will suck the life out of ya.. images/icons/cool.gif

GO HAMMER! GO HAMMER! That would be a great B-day present. Thanks for the replies guys. I'm running the gp 208s now, and like them a lot. Of course I only have the bt010s to compare on this bike. Gonna put some new tires right before I go.
Hey, anyone going to Laguna Seca? I'm gonna go for the last day, Sun. I'm gonna leave Sat. night, 7/13, meet my friends, and come back on Sun. after the races!!! Sounds crazy, but you only live once I guess. If anyone wants to join me, let me know.

Yeah Hunter. My friends are going early the week before. Riding to Reno, and a bunch of other places. I have to work, but they talked me into riding out Sat. 7/13 night, watching the races Sun., and all riding back Sun. night. Possibly Mon. morning. It's gonna be BALLS OUT, but something I gotta do. It would be great if you and Gary could go with me. We have a hotel room we can crash in. I don't have much time in my tired old life to do crazy sh%t like this. Come on, lets ride. I wanna see those crazy fu$%ers dive into a turn doing 120 mph. I've never seen a World Superbike race live before. Or any race, for that matter. We did four hours into Mexico today. So I figure 5 hours to Montery won't be so bad. Boring for sure, but, not to bad.

Well Hunter, It was going to be late at night. At 150, we would just be a flash to a cop anyways. However, I can't make it now. Got some family stuff to do. Bummer. But I am doing the track day Aug. 4, Cmon!, Lets ride!!! graemlins/bounce.gif

I was planning to attend on the 3rd of August since I will use the 4th to drive home. If there are enough people from here going I could probably just head home after riding Sunday. I will keep checking in.

Are you going to rent a bike or something?, or just hang out? Wanna be a coach?
I didn't add or change anything, per say. I had a leaky fork seal that needed changing. I had a guy named Phil at Lee's Cycle here in San Diego just do the set up for me. You know, check the travel and all that. The front end was way to high, causing it to drift away, and even slid once in a while. The difference is amazing.
I was thinking about going Ohlin, but my wife would through me out of the house if I spent 5 grand on my bike. LOL graemlins/laugh.gif

O.K. you guys, now you've really got me going now. About how much is it, what would we change, and about how long does it take. Plus, do I have to take it to a shop to install? Whats the possibilities of getting it done before Aug. 4.?

I am planning to be there for that entire weekend of track days. Hopefully I can wrangle a Honda or something to ride images/icons/wink.gif
