: wheelie wobbles
Uncle Shittypants 12-20-2005, 07:28 AM man sometimes when I bring her way up sitting, to the BP or a little past it, the bitch wobbles bad and forces me to sit it back down. My rear tire needs replaced, and will get after christmas, is that prb the problem, or maybe too much psi?
crzy954rr 12-20-2005, 08:15 AM Could be a lot of things, for fast stuff (above 20mph) run full psi. It may be the tire, but i've rode on some tirs that were terrible (like 100 burnout circles to one side) and i don't usually get wobble from it. From what i've seen it usually means that your not bringing it up to BP fast enough. Use more clutch, or stand up.

gotcha, yeah its for faster stuff. I mean the tire has a few flat spots from a burnout or two, but its not that terrible.
thanks
bartona_500 12-20-2005, 02:11 PM wait, how do you bring it up sitting, then get forced to sit back down?
if you are talking about bringing it up standing up, and it forces you to sit down, try standing up straight, almost locking your legs...
mine wobbles if i dont get it up to the BP, but if i get it in the bp, and stand straight up, it rides just fine.. make sure your back tire is alligned properly, check those little notches back there where you tighten the chain.
SouthFLg6 12-20-2005, 03:52 PM he means sitting...i thinkg its the tire.. maybe..
or more weight on one hand than they other. OR try not being so gay
Bomer82 12-21-2005, 12:20 AM i have had it happen when i am choppy with the throttle, be smmmmmmmmmmmmmoooooooooooooooooooootttttttttttthhh hhhhhhhhhhh

This will make the bike pull to one side, not wobble.

Tire may be the problem. How high are your revs when you are up on one?
I normally associate the wobbles with your engine spinning too fast while up in the air.
gimpsta 12-21-2005, 12:07 PM last I heard, wobbles was 90% choppy with the throttle especially when higher up. a lot of roads are shaped to have rain run off of them, and there is a slant - that helps as well http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
keep trying, work on being smooth, and it should pan out - i went through the same problems, and from lack of doing anything for so long I'm back there again http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
Uncle Shittypants 12-21-2005, 01:12 PM thanks guys, ill get it worked out, just takes practice.
MustangThief 12-22-2005, 05:58 PM Ehh....
wobbles can be a lot of things but seriously from experience and asking of a lot of local stunters the wobbles is from one thing... being a newbie.
It's bad body positiong and/or weighting your body to one side.
If I remember right you're just starting wheelies aren't you Uncle? That would completely explain why you're gettin wobbles then.. there's a stage in learning to master balance point that is the wobbles...
I even had a part where I could wheelie straight at BP in a sit-down but i couldn't look around the bike or i'd get wobbles... because i'd throw my weight over instead of counterweighting with my foot...
It wil come to you with time and practice, young grasshopper.
