I saw the bike out at Desoto, very nice bike.

I like the fact that there are alot of stock components still on the bike ie wheels, brakes, fairings, rearsets etc. Also the fact there is no square slick on the back.

umm.. et streets are flat.. et street is a car tire and the lines run front to back not side to side.. you prob meant mcr2

I wonder what kind of horse power that thing would need to run a 7.9?

well into the 450 range. MPH here in Akron, OH has a 450 + turbo on a busa and is running low 8s on a shitty track. They figure if they could get to a good track and decent weather the 7s should be doable.

I asked the guy who was piloting it, Mike Slowe and he said "between 300-350hp"...that was his answer. Just for comparison, Lee Shierts ran an 8.02 @ 174 mph on his 03 1000 with a built motor and nitrous. His bike had 270 hp at that time.

Is he running nitrous?? I can't see how an 'all motor' 1000 (even if it's bored/stroked) can run a 7 sec pass... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I wouldn't be surprised if he's running nitro in the fuel, that's good for over 100hp... gotta be doing something to run those kind of times.

You would have to be kind of sneaky with it though, it's easy to recognize a nitro mix when idling (sp?) at the line... I wonder if he has a seperate fuel/nitro mixture that injects at full throttle.. maybe at small mixture levels it's not that audibly noticable http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif From the looks of things the race will happen.. you got to give that guy credit though, he has balls trying to race velocity with slowe.

Lee's bike runs 8.02 on nos it might be possible long dollars can do anything. We'll all know after this weekend

whats done to each, pics...although it doesn't really matter that much now, I already lost my money. haha I can't help but bet on the underdog that talks shite. If his bike would have been half as good as his shite talkin, slowe woudl have had his ass handed to him hahah.
