Sweet pics bro images/icons/wink.gif Sounds like you where doing pretty fast times out there images/icons/wink.gif I know you where one damn fast Mofo out on Shannonville images/icons/wink.gif

I still want to do this track on the 14th images/icons/grin.gif I got the day off work, and The bike is pretty much all ready to go, just need to mount up some race take offs and some new EBC HH brake pads!! Think you will make it out there that day??

BTW do you have any info on track days around the area? I have a site with some of the scheduled days, but I wonder if there are more I could try and get out to??

I ran the mosport long track on May 28th. mosport.com (http://www.mosport.com)

It was a beautiful day. I started in intermediate, and at lunch moved to the race group. I should have been there all along. This was my second time on that track. It was tons of fun and there were a lot of friends there.

Lots of crashes too. The intermediate group only got 1 clean session all day. 6-8 crashes. You don't want to crash at mosport. Very fast, lots of elevations changes, and a premiere north american track. 2 guys crashed in turn 4 which is a very odd corner to crash in. You have to panic to crash there.

I was running low 1:33's in the intermediates, and faster with the racers, but no timing for that unfortunately. I'd guessestimate 1:31-1:32 range. The bike is an f4i.

Even at mosport it is all about rider. A friend with a 165 rwhp gsxr1000 was running 1:41's. A friend with a 929 was running 1:41's too. And these guys were among the faster ones in intermediate.

There was still room for improvement. My whole style had to be redone for mosport. Much faster speeds feel strange as compared to shannonville. I had much more lean angle to use too, but I didn't feel totally comfortable. Don't wipe out there. With the speeds the bike is most likely a wipeout. A safety margin is nice too.

Enjoy.

The pics were okay, but limited, and only a few good ones.

Above is my friend on his 929. I followed him for a few laps as we were getting some video footage. I have no idea what came about from that.

Thanks for the Pics. Are you going in July? I hope to be there the 15th,16 ,17th.
I was there last year on the SV. Didn't put much wear on the brakes with that machine. Damn that place is fast!

Thanks for the replies.

The pics were by a pro. 3000 X 2000 res originally.

No airtime off the back straight. They levelled off the bump at the end of the straight a while ago to prevent that. But you can get some wicked wheelies in high sixth gear there if you have the power!

My next track day will be june 24 and 25. Moss, if you make it out on the 14th. Let me know how it goes!

I will be at mosport for bike week. July 13-17. I hope to ride the mon, tues, and wed. It all depends on the weather!?

An update on a few of the injured riders. One guy broke both wrists and an arm. Another guy broke 3 ribs. Don't go nuts at mosport! It is very unforgiving.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I'll let you know for sure images/icons/wink.gif Where will you be at on the 24-25th?? I'm also hoping to make it out to Mosport in July would like to get on the track for abit and watch the races too images/icons/grin.gif Hopefully I'll be off shift and will be able to stay there for 4-5 days images/icons/wink.gif

And I won't be going nutz bro, You have warned me a few x's about this track, and with the riders being injured I'll take it easy out there, esp since this will be my first time on this track images/icons/wink.gif But its not the Long track, its the Rider Development track, which is tighter and not as fast as the long track

kwtoxman, yours looked so good figured I'd throw mine in. These were from last weekend at Grattan Raceway. There is an excellent photographer out there. I shrunk these down a bit so the quality is not as good as the originals. http://www.gixxer.com/uploads/1023367819.jpg http://www.gixxer.com/uploads/1023367865.jpg

Thanks, the plastics that I have on my bike are all salavaged from crashed bikes. The tail has a nice crack that I glassed over on the inside and stuck some white tape over top. Both side panels are rashed from a guy who lowsided his bike on both sides ($50 for both of them), the nose piece is also a rashed and cracked stock piece that I glassed over a taped up headlight, removed the headlight and voila, a race nose piece. Full set of track plastic for about $90. I have a set of Triple X coming though. I'm going to start racing in a series so I need a catch can.
