hey there...

i thought about it and i'm pretty sure i want to make the MX bar conversion... now the question is how?

It's a 97 gix, so the top yoke is somewhat thin... is there anyone who has done this mod before... and what would you reccomend?

I used the same bar adapters they sell for dirtbikes it go to a large dia Renthall bar. just drilled and tapped. If you think its to thin, mark where its going to be drilled and have the thickness built up with a tig welder on the backside. You can buy a ready built uppers from
a couple of places. Try here: http://www.whaccessories.com/

The yokes are aluminium, so i think i might reinforce it with a thick piece of alum...

also... about the risers... any chance you would have a pic of the ones you used?

I bought some @ a local yard, but i'd like to see which ones you used to i'd feel better about these ones hehehe...

You never had a problem with the conversion or anything?

I don't have any pics as my camera took a crap about three weeks ago (right in the middle of the 1000 fork conversion on my 90) and I have not the spare cash to replace it at the moment. I used some 1in1/8th adapter clamps from my local Dealer because I'm running Renthall Twin Walls. They had a half moon on the bottom to mate with the bike they we designed for. I just milled it off. I will try to bring it in to work so I can take some pics next week.

projector lights are ok but not as good as standard so you'll have to slow down at night(a little graemlins/flipoff.gif )
have seen the pics of your bike on the other site bars look good i have done it the same way just that my risers are bigger and a two hole mount
dont go for a ducati seat unit everybody and his mothers got one of them i went for a complete 96 blade and it looks "THE MUTTS NUTTS" images/icons/cool.gif
