I'm thinking about creating a streetfighter around a GSXR750Y.

Attracted to the light weight and sweet handling of the GSXR750. However, I would like to boost the mid range a bit.

Will an aftermarket pipe, k&n filters and remapping with PC be sufficient to boost the midrange. Or should I be looking at something else.

Any suggestions or ideas welcomed. graemlins/thumbup.gif

Thanks,

You can always go with re-gearing to bring the power on a little sooner....go two up on the rear...it will shorten the wheel base a bit at the same time. Going with a pipe etc....can tune in more mid etc?.....rear sprocket is a little cheaper.

As well as being quicker off the mark, it will make the wheelies easier!!

you can go with the one peice header pipin and can combo, where its welded not bolted on that should help your mid a little better too.

Guys,

thanks for all the tips.

Just to make things more complicated, I've come a cross a mint '01 GSXR600 for a very good price.

A 600 streetfighter anyone?

Blue Flame is putting out a "Stunt Can" now for their exhaust systems. Some of the guys from 1096 are using them and say that they are really good. The can is a lot shorter then the normal cans (so they won't scrape when you're at 12 O'Clock). They mentioned that the shorter can also boosts the midrange power.

Haven't used one myself but they all seemed to like them and they sound pretty cool. Also, the shorty can is gonna make a lot of people ask what the hell you did to your bike. images/icons/grin.gif

Oh, and the cans were the Scourched Ti look.
