im clutching mine up and second at around 4500 to 5000 rpm's. then again i have a -1 sproket so that helps a littlebit.

I suck at clutching it up, just can't get the timing right. Not really sure what i'm doing wrong, 1st is cake though.

i never actually learned how on my stock 02 6. i did with it -1 though, but it seemed like a lot (might of been me though because I WAS used to clutching 1st all the time)

although, i hear the newer 6's are quite a bit different so what I've heard about it is what everyone has said. but go ahead and give it a -1 for the heck of it.

hey i clutch it at 45mph give it almost full throttle to get it up once it lifts the wheel it will come up slow then get to a point then comes up quickly u will need to cut gas first time will scare u untill u get the feel of it.

so what rpms do most of you drop the clutch?

Depends on if I am sitting, or standing. If I am sitting, I get to about 40 mph, and slip with a pull, and it comes up. If I am standing though, I get to about 55 or so, give a bounce and slip it, and stand up close to BP. About the only thing that is going to be the same for everyone is the practice. Just find an open road, and practice. I do mine on my stock 03 600. Just takes time to be able to get it.http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

i dont look at the rpms, because i stand. and i have a solid windscreen so you cant see anything..

its mainly a feeling though, thats what people who i see tryinig it dont get. its one motion.

pulling in the clutch w/ one finger..rolling the throttle...letting the clutch go ..and while giving it a little bounce and pull... if you can some how get that all into one solid motion and practice it a few days you wont even think about it..you just..do it.

just be careful, and make sure you dont ride on your clutch too much or you'll burn that thing up. and if you get good at bouncing, you can stand up in 2nd gear going about 55 or 60 and pull it up with no clutch. i recommend this if you arent trying slow wheelies, like highway stuff. save some life in that clutch, b/c mine is going out bit by bit...

I dont even bother with 2nd gear wheelies, to torquey when you get it up. try 3rd gear its much easier to maintain the wheel being up and you can go further. i just dropped a tooth on the front sprocket and now i can pull it up in 4th, but i have to be going like 90 before i pull it up. The other day I set it down going down the freeway in 3rd and i was going 126mph, i couldnt believe my eyes http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif. you dont really notice how fast you're going when ridding wheelies, to hard concentrating on not looping out.

Dont look at your RPMs and rely on it, try to get used to listening to the engine.

My boy does it like that too...I can't get all that to come as one....still trying though. I can bounce them up standing but it would still be nice to just clutch it up and go.

I hope this summer will be my time to rock em.

yes its less of a touchy feel, but as you've already pointed out your going way to fast. Learn to get it up in 2nd and shift to 3rd right away. Better yet, stay with 2nd gear stuff at 50mph and try to get to the BP. All your doing now is bringing it up at 75ish and trying to get the BP but not gettting there. And since your in 3rd and 4th - you keep going with it till redline. Which is ludcrious stupid speed.
