What's with the strap mount on the 1k ?
First time I've seen something like that ...

I made a steel rod with clips to hold the strap,Works great on the newer bikes with radial calipers were theres nothing to bolt the strap to....That rod was for a Busa and I had some room on it so I added the 2lb weights to help!!

Another good thing,you dont need any tools to mount it and it keeps the buckle from killing your radiator!!

Home depot sells the rod..I didnt get mine from there but seen them there also..If you look close I have one on My Busa too..

I'm waiting on a 0"-6" arm for my Busa from Adams,should be in next week.I plan on running it at 64".
I added an air-shifter&finally re-geared it for the track last month.We did a few weekday track rentals at E-Town in Sept&Oct,so I decided to finally put an arm on the Bus.
It's damn near impossible to keep it down w/a stock wheelbase.

It has a 1397 carpenter engine with all the goodies http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

P.S.-I used to run Atco every week before I got married in '00.
I had an '84 GS1150 ES Pro-Street(remember that Pro-Star class?)w/a 1425 Carpenter engine&also ran a '89 GSXR 750 w/a 1371 engine with a 8" arm on it
But havent been to the track in ages until a few months back.The bug bit me again&now I'm back in the groove...

Yes I know who Tommy M. and Joe Franco are..I also had a bunch of Oil cooled GSXRs back in the day..

And I only went 9.86 144MPH on the second pass ever on My 1k..The clutch was acting up and I couldn't get a smooth launch..the bike would of went a 9.60-70..Only a slip on pipe and stock gearing!!

Yes I know. That pic was taken right at the launch (as you can still see the starting line). I don't have an air shifter yet. I always had to launch with my foot on the peg. No matter how hard I tried to bring my foot up, I couldn't make the 1-2 shift in time.

E-Racer, are those black things on either side of your front axle dumbells? That's exactly the same setup I have on my bike but the 5lbs on each side weren't enough, I had to use 10lbs each side. Those were only 2 1/2 pounders..a last min 3am attempt at ballast..


I also bolted like 6lbs to the header..going to make a Nice ballast box over the winter..but This is suppoe to be My street bike!!

I just made a bar to go across the header pipe and a bolt to hold some 3lbers on..I will take some pics..And any weight on the axle is not legal to NHRA rules..I just did it quick and was at a Hick track not a big race or I wouldn't of..

With that setup and spraying in 1st gear, the front end still lifted and it got real annoying so I just stretched the swingarm to 7in from 5.5 in. and that seemed to solve it.

How much hp nitrous you spraying??

My best ever was last year which I ran a 9.48 @ 140 all motor...this year the bike didn't launch as well for whatever reason.. the best I got was 9.61 @ 147. With a #34 jet I got exactly 170.5 hp/97 tq and with the #38 jet I have not dynoed it yet but I am guessing 180 hp. All motor it only has 136 rwhp...the motor has over 40,000 original miles on it! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
