: first time on track with bike
flyinryanp 11-19-2005, 01:46 PM my first time on a track with a bike on my 05 600 and my very first run ever i pulled a 11.798 @ 119.972 with a .373 reaction time. i pulled a r1 over half way down the track then he caught me at the end. he ran a 10.879@137.813. I ended up taking first place on bracket racing in the motorcylce class. my best time of the day was a 11.726@119.251 with a .096 reaction time. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/banana.gif
GhOsT6_9 11-19-2005, 04:17 PM Well first off congrats on the win, beginners luck http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
And keep on practicing and those numbers will drop down to where they should be. I know my first few runs at the track were in the mid-high 11's. Not so much any more http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

What he said ... I won my first time at the track too.
Haven't since though, but I've been more worried about getting my times down, and not almost flipping over anymore.
flyinryanp 11-21-2005, 11:48 AM are those good times for a totally stock 600. what is everyone else running with a stock 600. any tips to a faster time.
Jdc03 11-22-2005, 07:39 AM That's about average for a first time at the track.
I only went twice before I went -1 on the front sprocket ... then added the bolt-on exhaust and PC3 with a stock map.
But with a stock bike I went a best of 11.4 I believe, averaged 11.6.
The more you go, the faster you'll get ... that's just how it works.
With my bike the way it is now, I average 11.1 ... and I have two 10.9 slips.
Lowering the bike for next season and my goal is 10.5s.
GhOsT6_9 11-22-2005, 10:43 AM My best time on mine was 11.14@126MPH bone stock, other then a K&N fitler. I added a strap kit and went 10.81@128, so far anyways. THere's still a couple 10th's left in it.
Thats still using the stock Dunlops too.
flyinryanp 11-22-2005, 12:14 PM the o4 bike is rated at like 10.77 so i know theres more in it i was just curious if i was in times i should be in
Jdc03 11-22-2005, 02:31 PM That's a corrected time with a professional rider.
There's almost no way to do match that number in real life.
I have never seen a track with 'perfect' conditions.
Damn Ghost, that bike's making some decent power ... I don't think I've seen above 127 even with my minimal mods. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
flyinryanp 11-23-2005, 03:03 PM yeah i noticed that today it had a little * next to it then said that in fine print
Uncle Shittypants 11-24-2005, 08:07 AM ive seen a guy pull a 10.7 on a stock 05 gixxer 6, well it had a bolt on can, but yeah so its stock. I havent ran mine tho
GhOsT6_9 11-24-2005, 08:08 AM JDC I had my bike dyno'd back in Oct. and it pushed out 103.9HP at the wheel.
Yeah I know the bike is a little animal for some reason. In my area at least the only guy close to my times is an R6 with pipe and power commander, his best was a 10.9 (consistent 11.1's)
flyinryanp 11-26-2005, 02:07 PM id like to have my dynoed but i really dont have the time or $$$$
GhOsT6_9 11-26-2005, 06:45 PM Dyno time here is very reasonably priced. Cost me 34 bucks for 2 pulls
Kazzam 11-30-2005, 06:58 AM Not a bad timeat all. Most the guys around here are pulling low-mid 12's on theirs....
neicey 12-06-2005, 06:57 PM sen some guys pulling low 11s.did 10.93 on a kwaaka 636 had a slip on pipe no straps standard gearing,
