: Went to track... 01' 750 results
1_BAD_GIXXER 10-23-2005, 05:29 AM overall a great time. i ran fairly well towards the end. actually won a trophy too.
i stuck around 11.4 ish.
what i am especially happy about is my reaction times.
R/T: .032, .09, .041, .057, .21, .402 (obviously the 2 later times were my first two runs)
My 60ft was well as well: 1.997, 1.964, 1.852, 1.951, 1.921, 1.861, 1.510
-------Best run----------
dial in time of 11.356
R/T: .032
60': 1.861
330: 4.994
1/8: 7.445
mph: 99.86
1000: 9.537
1/4: 11.357 <-- 0.001 from my dial in time!!! YEA!!!
mph: 123.98 <-- i let off b/c i knew i had the guy beat...
now im surprised, b/c i have read a lot on here and most mention that their 750's run in the 10.4 range... i was running the best i could. shifting at 13,500 or just before 14K rpm. really good launches..what am i missing here.. granted, i haven't done a tune up. i had its 15000 mile service, now its at 21K miles...i should have to do anything in b/w... am i missing something here???

spongebob 10-23-2005, 07:25 AM reaction times are good for winning races, but quick 0-60' lower et's..
Ibidu1 10-23-2005, 09:14 AM Your not coming out the hole quick enough, you can shave time there. Also are you clutch shifting it? no clutch shifting will shave time.
1_BAD_GIXXER 10-23-2005, 11:35 AM yea, i was clutch shifting... i "thought" i was coming out of the hole pretty quick... but like i said, this was my first time on the track...
so how exactly would i shift without clutch? just click it down??? next season, i'll work on this!
thanks again for the tip!
Aj
SlowKat 10-26-2005, 09:57 AM 1/4 miles is pretty hard. You should be able to 60' a 1.5. Body weight has a huge factor people dont realize. Mag times usually have a guy that weighs in at around 140lbs, so pretty small guys.
GhOsT6_9 10-26-2005, 10:07 AM Your 60 ft times are too high. You need to be in at least the 1.7xx sec range. Do a quick burnout, to heat up the tires. That will help with traction. And air your rear tire down, I ran 20 psi in my stock Dunlop this past weekend.
To shift without the clutch all you gotta do is let off the gas and pop the shifter up then get back on the gas. Only do everything really quickly. I usually clutch the 1-2 gear change, then go clutchless from there on.
And your 750 should be into the 10's. I just put my stock 600 to a 10.81@128MPH on Sunday. I weigh in at 173lbs, just checked this morning at the gym.
Good times none the less, just keep practicing and you'll get your times down.
ssgsky 10-29-2005, 09:48 PM 1.5 on a stock height 750? i wanna see that
dave3.4 11-04-2005, 08:13 AM 1.5 THAT MAY BE POSSIBLE BUT I HAVENT SEEN IT ...........1.8 ISNT BAD AT ALL FOR A BEGINNER
dave3.4 11-05-2005, 01:24 AM let off?!?!!?cause you had him beat?what
GhOsT6_9 11-05-2005, 07:13 AM let off?!?!!?cause you had him beat?what
he was bracket racing and didn't want to break out and lose.
Youngin 11-06-2005, 02:24 AM Is the bike lowered? you can launch harder without it coming up.Those 60 footers are the only thing hurtin your times
gixxerguy77 11-06-2005, 09:52 AM 1.5 on a stock height 750? i wanna see that
I second that.. i launch at 8grand with a shinko and im running a low 1.6 60' on a built 750 motor lowered with 5" extensions
chrisOH 11-11-2005, 06:41 AM I am surprised with your 60 fts that you weren't in the 10s.
I had my best run of 11.38 with a 60 ft of 1.8 my first time as well.
But I was on a GSXR 600 with pipe Power commander and race filter.
Also My wheelbase was maybe 1/4 to 1/2 in shorter then stock for road racing.
You may want to have your bike Dynoed to see it there is anything abnormal.
Jdc03 11-11-2005, 08:36 AM ^^^ What he said ... ^^^
All and all, your times seem high and your MPH seem low.
Here's some timeslips from my 2nd time at the track on my '02 600.

If I remember right, the only mod I had then was -1 in the front ... everything else was stock.
Since then I've added an Akrapovic bolt-on and a PC3 with the stock map.
I've been into the 10.9s twice and almost never go above 11.1s ... and that's with my bad 60ft's. ( 1.8s - 1.9s )
gimpsta 11-18-2005, 05:14 PM ya i ran a stock 600 at 11.1 after owning it for 4 months.
stock 05 750 3yrs later at 10.8
that was about my 3rd time to a drag strip. get on that gas!!
ssgsky 11-18-2005, 11:17 PM at 190# i had 02 750, kn filter, pc3, D&D bolt on and -1 10.71 @ 131 i weigh more now, i know those times have been far eclipsed by others. remember the 05 stock makes more than my 02 modded. and for my track i was .5 faster than any other 750 there. every time my front wheel was off the ground past 60ft. i do not have it lowered, unless ya count 15mm in the front and i do not have extended.
with over 80 runs down the strip, on the stock clutch, the metal plates are getting a little blue, but the fiber plates are good still.

Jdc03 11-20-2005, 04:05 AM That's a sickening 60ft time ...
Tell me that bikes 100% stock and I'll call you God !
GhOsT6_9 11-20-2005, 10:33 AM I have to agree with Jdc on that one, nice 60 ft and 1/8th mile.
You must be turning low 10's to high 9's in the 1/4 with that thing. I ran a 7.0 1/8th with a 10.8 in the1/4. So what have you done to your 600 to pull those kinda numbers Mad Mike?

Well for starters just because a bike does 6.2 in the eigth does it mean it will run 9's in the quarter... most people gear their bike for the 1/8 but that gearing is tooo much to keep that type of acceleration up for the 1/4.... they run out of rpms before the 1/4 which slows them down.. the Bomb run would be a 1/4 mile slilp on a 600 that included a 6.2 or so 1/8 with a mid 9second 1/4 time.. hope that makes sense... just say not every 1/8 conversion to 1/4 is true...
