: Went down today. Haven't experienced this in YEARS.
PITBULLMAN 10-16-2005, 12:09 PM Well I had a nice afternoon of screwing around. I was riding and enjoying the good weather before the dreadful winter comes along.
Well, I see this 05 Porshe 911 twin turbo. I race up to him after making a u-turn. I downshift and am ready. My rpms are revvin high as hell. he starts to take off and I scream past him like he is dancing in a parade of senior citizens.
Then I slow down and he is not coming strong anymore. We were cruising at 105mph on a barren hwy.
I turn back and start to head home.
I go down and about 3miles from my house at this point.
I stop at the stop sign and cruise on. Again this is in the middle of no where. I see some drunken dudes yellin cheering the bike and me on.
Well I go past about 20ft or so and somehow " hit a bump, bouced off," and then I find myself being drug by the bike.
the whole thing happened soo fast. But I believe due to my 15 or so yrs riding experience it cause me no panic, no locking up, no nothing.
I just worked my hands grabbing the clutch, trying to to throttle from down there on the street, and braking at the same time.
I started to slow down fropm doing above "x" mph and then I see this car coming. She saw me being drug from about 100-200ft away but still kept driving in my direction. At this point from being on the left side I wanted to drift to the left side of the hwy ( 2 lane 1 in each direction).
Well this stupid b!tch didn't slow down or nothing once she was close. I HATE stupid B!TCHES.
For the guys here!!1
STOP HAVCING KIDS WITH THESE STUPID ASS WOMEN. Its fukking up our riding saftey by having these morons bred by more morons. Let's agree to stop making out with stupid broads and find some with sense, ya dig?
Anyhow, Me on the ground being drug saw her and could react under all this pressur eof trying to live without letting go of the bike and sliding on my body. She mobs on being stupid as usualand I move out of the lane and back into mine. The whole time I am sliding on my legs and feet.
She gets the hint to move out of the way once seing me about 20ft from her vehicle, and she moving considerably... Me trying to slow down.
I go and then afetr she passes I go BACK to the left side but there is a ditch about 3-4ft deep. Nahhhh, I'll drag longer before fukkin me and my bike up like this.
That thought went through my head " just let go and take the hit "physically" and "motor vehically".
Well, I slid some more. At this point I could feel the burn on my feet. I go into a more shallow ditch and slow it downto a nice stop to where my feet could start to come up.
Some peo-ple drinking beer in their front yard jump up and say " are you ok, are you ok?"
I said " HOLY SHIT. DID YOU SE THAT RECOVERY?!?!?!?!?! DID YOU SEE THHHHAT RECOVERY????"
Her son (30yrs prob) says " hell yea man. Your lucky as hell."
I jumped on the bike asap and revved off.
Well the damage is in the pics. It didn't dawn on me until after of what happened.
My ankle is prewtty jacked and my foot is chewed up with dirt and shit stuck in the wound. Can't really get it out yet but I am alive, my bike is EXACTLY the same as it was when I started her this morning.
My body is the only thing that is a bit sore.
No insurasnce calling, no ticket, no nothing but bodily.
You guys ride safe out there.
You could be like my buddy and his frist wreck was his shattered arm with screws and rods in it. Haven't heard form him yet in more than 1.5wks.
Keep the rubber side down dudes....
LATER
the pics.
the one is of the grass spot where I slowed down enough to hop back on, the foot is self explanitory except where my shoes started to come off and my heel at some concrete and I was like "hell no, your staying on" and that's when the pressure went on my ball of my foot, the others is of my brand new shoes, 2-3mo old, some Globe skater shoes which cost me muther fukkin'' $75 which pisses me off.
But at least I am alive... and so are you guys. Ride safe...

Suzuki Chelly 10-16-2005, 12:28 PM Nice save PBM. A pair of shoes and some road rash definitely beats wrecking a pair of shoes plus more road rash plus alot of rash on the bike. I bet that foot is gonna hurt like a bastard.
And we all know that even a pair Icons or steel toes would have prevented alot of that damage on your foot. A pair of race boots would haveheld up even better.
juniorace 10-16-2005, 12:29 PM Glad to see that you didn't bust your noggin, and that the bike is fine. (I'm a gear nazi...but I'm gonna keep my mouth shut http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif.) Explain a little better about how you got tossed..??

Devilman 10-17-2005, 01:54 AM Well, some of us had Mommas that got us dirt bikes when we were kids so that we learned not to just "bounce up and off the bike" when we hit little bumps in the road. So, as for breeding with stupid women, I think you're proof positive of that. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Grandevil 10-17-2005, 10:53 AM I tuck when I'm cold or it's raining.
forrestang 10-17-2005, 10:55 AM I've been lucky in my few years of riding.
I've had the occasional back tire come out a litle cornering @ triple digits on lower Wacker Drive, hit a good bump, slid a little in rain...but the other day.......
It was pooring, and I was soaked. I've always sort of liked sliding around in the wet....
I was coming west bound on a residential, when a car moving southbound on a cross street ran a stop sign. Grabbed a handful of brakes, but not to much(or so I thought), front tire starts to slide....Rear locked up a second before(operator error), bike goes almost completely sideways(not exaggerating here), I could feel myself about high side over the bike.....
I could either try and ride it out with tires locked and probably go over....or let the brakes go and try to get the bike lined back with the road and then re-apply the brakes. I choose the later. Luckily, the bike straightened itself back out and I was prompltly, albeit abrubtly thrown back in the saddle.
I'm still moving towards car that still hadn't made it out of the intersection yet. This all seemed to happen faster than I could think.
I grabbed brakes again and luckily managed to slow the bike withoutt locking the tires and stop the bike before the intersection.
The entire incident was my fault, as this could have been avoided had I been paying more attention. I was just having too much fun in the rain. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Nope, that's a fixture in my own little vocabulary. It comes to mind every time I see somebody doing that, or if I'm stuck in the rain or the temp dropped some and I'm hugging the bike to stay warm/dry at 60mph.

It's always about YOU isn't it?
For what it's worth, I was pulling the Wifey Tuck on my cross street last night at 55 mph.
Just to avoid the majority of the bugs!!!
