Sperm donor must pay child support

Stockholm - A Swedish man who donated his sperm to a lesbian couple must pay child support for the three boys he fathered, the Supreme Court has ruled.
The man, now 39, gave his sperm to the couple in the early 1990s. Three sons were born in the years 1992 to 1996.
He agreed he would play no role in the boys' upbringing, but signed a document saying he was the father. The women separated and the biological mother demanded that the man pay child support. The man went to the district and appeals courts, but lost. The Supreme Court upheld these rulings. - Sapa-AFP

Thats complete Bull S. Wonder wtf he even agree to sign a paper saying he was the father? That is dumb on his part.

Damn thats f'ed up. He may have signed their birth certificates or something so that if they ever wanted to know who their "father" was they would have a place to start. I know that in the US if I guy signs (even if he is later DNA tested and shown NOT to be the father) he can be liable for child support. But in a sit. like this how could any judge in their right mind grant support from that man??? And what a stupid bitch for the woman to even ask for it.

I thought there were laws protecting the identities of the donors. This is Sweden though so I'm not too sure on their laws there.
From what I hear people in the US are trying to undo the protected identities part of the sperm donors for, I think, the same reason of trying to claim child support.
I know that in the US if I guy signs (even if he is later DNA tested and shown NOT to be the father) he can be liable for child support.
That's the US for you. Guilty until proven innocent. I think the law is, at least in CA, that if you are served papers, even at an old address that you used to live at and you don't respond to them or something you are automatically named the father of the child until proven by way of paternity/DNA test.
