Hate to say it bro but Cat Customs is the place to be for parking lot pimps, bling with no lean, mix and match tires, neon, Gucci seat covers, airbrush, .D&D pipes, people who think K&N filters add horsepower, short sets, riding with Timberlands and a toe cover, riders that use Mechanix gloves for riding gloves, and squids that ride with no gear. I rarely go there anymore since all the track riders/racers don't show up there anymore. It used to be a good spot 4yrs ago when people actually rode bikes and not just "do a lap" around Killeen to end up at Casades (I might have mispelled that). If you see me there, I'll be the one on the 600 listening and laughing at all the guys that talk about how they "hit the corners" hard. The main thing I hate about the crowd there is that whenever they want to group ride, the newbies don't know their place which is in the back. Also, the group never stays together because there's always a couple of 1000's or Busas that have to do 100+mph in town on Stan Schlueter and others think they have to keep up and the entire group gets split up. I like to ride with my select group of friends that know how to ride for one thing, we don't take smoke breaks every 20 miles, and we don't "fag out" of turns that say "50mph" when you are only doing 70mph. If you can't take a turn at double the posted speed and add another 10-20mph, then stay in the back.

Hey hey long time since i checked this post but i guess you found me. I'm the one with the wrecked K6. I know what you mean about the parking lot pimpin and the newbies that charge to the front. Seems like every time we go on a serious ride someone has gone down. Well I'll let you know when I get my bike road worthy again and maybe if I need those sharkskinz or woodcraft rears'

Have fun on the fiddy

oh oh oh i forgot nvm i pm

been a long time since i even been by cat customs. who ya roll with, cycle knights, or the chosen few ? i ride with the TSBA Killeen chapter, ever how dysfunctional. our highlights are not runnin 120 down stan schluter just so a cop can chase me.<< i have actually had a guy tell me that is why they do it. ya know killeen has bike cops now right. and chances are they ride better than you. while yes, my bike is prob next to yours in the shop, mine is a tranny problem http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif) j/k lets not rag on D&D, it is the cheapest out there, and it DOES make better power than stock. true a lot do not like it's sound. i got mine because i was intending on getting a full system later and i could not see spending 600 on a bolt on that i would be replacing

I don't do clubs (not knocking them, just not my thing), seems like my life is already on a schedule so I couldn't make even a half-ass commitment. I just ride with 1-4 friends and drag a knee on Limecreek Rd every chance I get, which is usually Sundays. More into doing 1-2 trackdays per month and racing with CMRA. It is fun to see/listen to the noobs/squids at Cat's on occassion. I will roll through there maybe twice per month and listen to the guys bench race, gotta admit, their stories are funny (kinda like watching Rich in my mirror on his 1000rr miss the tight decreasing radius turn on Limecreek Sunday). Don't worry, he fagged out in time to just stand it up and ride off into the grass and keep her up (the only turn on Limecreek that you can actually run off of a little).

you do track days, yet still insist on dragging knees on LCR why? I keep hearing that road is narrow and has hidden debrie all over. With the 5 TWS track days this summer, I only get more and MORE fearful of a street ride. I've dropped my times to under 2min but I've slowed to a wussy on the street http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I do about 10-12 trackdays per year, mostly at MSR - Cresson, TWS isn't near as fun/technical but they each have there challenges. As far as Limecreek Rd goes, unless you've ridden it about 50 times, you'll know that out of the 85 or so turns in the 6 miles of the main part of Limecreek, the few areas with a little kitty litter are the same everytime out. Rarely have I seen debris on other turns unless a vehicle brought it onto the road. I make a dry pass through Limecreek before getting aggressive. There is usually some gravel/kittly litter on about 3 sometimes 4 turns and it's not bad at all. The surface of Limecreek is like a track...except they added some damn tar snakes over the summer and I suppose those can get greesy. I am riding well within my limits and don't go balls deep in every section of the road just a handful of turns. As many times as you have crashed Gimp, I know you still ache for kneedragging once in a while http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. For the record, my learning curve is not as steep as most, I take baby steps. I've done about 40+ trackdays, only ride GSXR600's or R6's, my times at TWS are around 2:03-2:05's and I've never crashed on any track/street...yet. I may be in the bottom of the race level but I have been told by the fast guys that I am smooth and very predictable on my lines. Trackdays are what they are, trackdays. I don't feel I need to shave 8-10 sec. off my laps everytime I hit TWS. I'm content shaving 1-2 here and there. I know you have military obligations but you should really try to do a Lonestar Trackday more often than the holiday/weekend squid days. There are more rediculous incidents and crashes on weekend/holiday trackdays that most other trackdays combined. Peace

Going to the first trackday at the new track, Motorsport Ranch - Houston on the 19th. Just hope it ain't too damn cold. This track is supposed to crazy cool. Can't wait till the spring to ride the original MSR-Cresson. The new part of the track is psycho with 70+ feet of elevation changes in just 8 turns.
