wtchtwr 10-13-2005, 06:53 AM http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wtf.gif You dont have central heating?
oldgixxer 10-13-2005, 07:18 AM Central heating as in forced hot air?Hell no.Thats the worst type of heat(also cheapest)to have.Your blowing dry air around the house, bad for breathing, nosebleeds, allergies, etc
Hydronic baseboard is the way to go,unless you go with radiant heat(that sits underneath the floor itself)but it's expensive as shit
I stained the wood myself....
wtchtwr 10-13-2005, 07:29 AM If you say so - I have never been in a house that has radiators
coyotesgal 10-13-2005, 07:37 AM Female opinion here... It looks awesome! http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Serious - Only hotels and shitty 40 year old apartments http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
JohnyCakes 10-13-2005, 08:10 AM oh yea...and baseboard is def the way to go http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/idea.gif
Fiddy_Ryder 10-13-2005, 11:04 AM not radiators like those cast iron ones.. radiant heating... the kind where you run an hose under ceramic type flooring and pump hot water through it.. the tiles get warm and the heat rises.. makes for warm toes in winter http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Moto_Joe 10-13-2005, 11:27 AM *tip......... hold the nail gun so it runs perpendicular to the grain. You wont have as larg of holes to putty. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
Looks great thoguh. I am working on remodeling most of our house as I speak http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/bash.gif

haha, i was going to say the same thing.. but i have a feeling that the pictures make it stand out more than it really does. ive seen that with some of my work before.
budlightnmyhand 10-14-2005, 03:23 AM Central heating as in forced hot air?Hell no.Thats the worst type of heat(also cheapest)to have.Your blowing dry air around the house, bad for breathing, nosebleeds, allergies, etc

I have radiant heating in my house... i just bought the house. They told me the heat came from the ceiling but that didn't make sense because heat rises why the hell would i want to heat my attick? They told me not to drill in the ceiling cause i would hit the wires or something i don' tknow. So its pretty good heat? I haven't tried it out yet.
oldgixxer 10-14-2005, 04:17 AM Yes,radiant heating is top of the line http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
You have tubing that runs back and forth underneath the floors. The heat the radiates thru the flooring(tiles, hardwood, carpet, etc).Keeps your feet nice and toasty.
You do not want to drill or nail anything thru the ceiling as you will penetrate the tubing and cause a nice leak.If you have a basement,go down there and pull the insulation to the side and you'll see how the system is run
budlightnmyhand 10-14-2005, 07:49 AM No basement http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif, i really don't need one i'm single and live in a 3 bedroom house by myself. Plus the ground arond here floods easily and when i drained 5000 gallons of water out of my pool to put the cover on it it filled up all my neighbors back yards, mine was a friggen lake. Well i hope this heat works well and doesn't cost me too much. The house is all electric.
CoolBlue 10-14-2005, 08:57 AM A house I used to live in had it in the ceiling, and its still the best heat I've ever had. The heat stays more constant. Way better than central heat.
