RULES for signature images:
1) NO nudity.
2) Maximum height for images is 175 pixels.
3) Maximum width for images is 700 pixels. images/icons/tongue.gif
4) Images should not be larger than 100k in physical file size.
5) Images should be kept on one line horizontally.
** If you do not follow these rules, we may remove content from your signature and lock it so you can no longer make changes.


we are adding to this.. we are NO LONGER allowing any animated signatures, doesn't matter if the size is just as small as other images.

no more girls in thongs, girls in bikini's. (Sorry Zam, and others)



we expect everyone to follow these rules, if you don't follow them, we will remove your ability to have any custom signature. images/icons/smile.gif

i like the new rules.

animated sigs-they are annoying, yes, i am on 1.5Mb at home and an OC47 at work, but it still takes a while to download everyone sigs

girly shots-at home i dont mind them, but at work if someone walks past and see a glance of a butt shot in a thong, its not the greatest thing to have on my screen. especially since my boss sits behind me, his boss sits to the right of him and his boss sits to the right of me!

all in all, i like the changes images/icons/smile.gif should make things quicker for those dialup people too images/icons/smile.gif

still would like to mabye see an option where you can hide sigs all together.

if the animated sigs are still under the size cap, how would they take longer to download? - I hear you about the thong shots though.. I guess I've been unemployed too long to notice images/icons/smile.gif

- Gary<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">you are right, they dont take longer if they are under the size, but if 20 people create a new animated sig, that would be 2MB(if they use the limit)that i would have to DL the next time i view the page. where as if someone just posted a pic, that could be 12k instead of 100k. yes, i know its cached, but who wants all those files cached in your history....and some people clean out their IE history once a week or mabye more often then that...and if you do that, it takes forever to load up the sigs the first time. frankly, i dont like having to look at pics in the sig, plus it would make the physical length of topics shorter if there were no pics since the pics add lenth to the whole topic

For those of us on a dial up and with old machines, the animated sigs are hell on the modem and display. Most of them never work, unless they are real small. I usualy get an anoying set of half loaded images that flash about 5 times a second.

I will change mine as soon as I get a chance. But you should put a deadline on when the enforcement of the new rules will take place. The deadline will give everyone a chance to make the necessary changes.

Yeah that makes sense with the image size and all.. I guess you could get rid of the animations and then crunch down on sigpic size (in K).. I'm so selfish with my DSL images/icons/smile.gif -

I'm going to have to agree with Kennedy on this one. If you are going to remove the chicks from the sig pics, could you remove them from MOFO of the moment too. I'm just saying it sucks having to scroll down real quick so no one will see the pics of Jer's or Jon's head on some chick (just as an example).

Can someone help me..I've read a tonne of posts about hosting my sig pic, and iv'e gone to Imagestation, epson.com, webshots.com and others....now when i try and copy the link to my profile it doesn't work. I put the [IMG] thing in front and all that, but it still won't work....What am i doing wrong?
