i have a rs4, and a savage.

for tuning, i just tune them the way the instructions tell you to. I think there is a forum for HPI (i know they are not traxxas, but same principles)

i think it is www.hpionline.com (http://www.hpionline.com) or something, google it http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Here's a link: http://www.savageracer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=848

A temp gun is a very good idea. I keep my Wasp .28 in my Savage SS, tuned to around 250* at hard running. Seems to be the sweet spot.

Get a temp gun and dial your carb an hour at a time. Then take a test run, bring it back and check your temps. I run my savage K4.6 at about 260. Keep in mind that you'll need to adjust the carb when the weather changes too. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Just listen to the truck, watch the smoke, check the temps and you'll get the hang of it. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Here's a pic of my savvy...

How many needles does it have?

How old is the fuel?

Start from what the manufacturer recommends and work your way out. Pull your plug and tell us if it is shiny or burnt/warped.

Spidey,

How do you like those Mulchers? I had to change from the Bow Ties to the Mashers. Just couldn't get enough traction in rough terrain with the BTs.

Dont know about you but, the Crowd Pleazer just doesnt look right on a basher. Had to go with the Suburban.

I love the mulchers! espessially with the X75 beed locks... they're light and wide. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
dirt, grass, whatever... they almost grip TOO MUCH! hard to keep the front end down. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I agree about the crowd pleazers too... it was my first attempt at flames... I like the look, and since it took so long to paint, i hadn't planed on bashing that body anyway.

I trashed a few Suburban bodys, and am now onto the bounty hunters for bashin. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
