If it's too fast for you just tape the games and watch them in slow-motion then speed them up as your brain gains the ability to follow the puck.

Actually the NBA is a faster paced game than the NHL. Hockey is just so fuckin BORING!!!

yea no kiddin. half the time in basketball you find the guys just standin around waiting for the ball. in hockey, the puck is moved around the rink ALOT obviously and in order to be on the ice you have to skate, therefor its faster paced.

+1 the people who complain about basketball probably have never really played in a real basketball game. you can rag on a player for not playing with a broke toe but have you ever played basketball with a foot injury. with a broke toe he would do more damage to his team on the court because he would not have full mobility which untimately would slow him down a lot and he would become a liablility. i'm not bashing on hockey if you like more power to you but don't hate on things you have clue about. I can't get the perplexed look off my face. Guys can hit a puck 100+ mph, they can skate 30+ mph, and just about anyone can score at any time from almost any place on the ice. They skate so hard that they have to come off the ice every minute to minute-and-a-half. How many NBA player loaf around and skip up and down the court for an entire game? What about when the NBA players stand around waiting for the shot clock or quarter clock to run down and just stand around dribbling. Meanwhile everyone else pretty much just stands around watching them, too. And the NHL is nof faster paced?!!

Pussy hits?!? Did you ever see just one of Scott Stevens' "pussy" hits?!? Guys get knocked the fuck out and have concussions in the NHL. And that's from legal plays that follow the rules. How often do NBA players get knocked out from legal plays?!? How often to NBA guys throw punches and knock the hell out of each other, then go to the penalty box, come out and do it again? No, the NBA players either slap each other or charge into the stands and try to beat up on people who are half their size. I've been playing hockey for a little over 2 years now. I played basketball as a kid. NO comparison! Hockey is WAY harder and TONS more fun to play AND watch. In fact, I'm going to a game tonight, going to watch the Stars play tomorrow night, and have games of my own scheduled for tomorrow night and Tuesday night. It's going to be a blast!!!

that's the point of the game. You try and pass through two people tape to tape while skating balls out. I guarantee you cant. It takes more skill to pass/shoot/score in hockey. If you cant appreciate what it takes to actually get the puck down into the opposing zone and have a chance to score then you cant appreciate hockey. Basketball players trot down, and have 2-3 players wide open to pass to.. Hockey players are sprinting balls out, trying to beat defenders who are actually trying, and are trying to knock you on your ass. Scoring is much harder also, in basketball you shoot OVER people, in hockey you shoot THROUGH people, that's why you dont see the high scores.. when playing a good team you're probably gonna have to get it through 3 people from the blue line (i'm a defensmen).. and the forewards are getting hacked up and pushed around so much it's nearly impossible to get a shot off (agreed its the similar on post w/ basketball, but you have much more control over the ball than a puck).

I bet you couldnt shoot a puck 45 mph, with a billy madison wind up and a full head of steam. Goalies wont miss many slow shots, unless they're out of position (either by deke or good passing) I personally can shoot a puck 70 mph with a very short windup. and way over 80 with full wind up... and accurate, placed to tip/score. I barely managed like 6 goals, with easily the hardest, and one of the most accurate shot in my LEAGUE, not to mention the best team (state champs, 20-2-0 rec)
