I am looking to eventually(when I get out of the Marine Corps) purchase a home and I was looking at moving to Florida, possibly the Tampa Area but I also would like to know of other beautiful coast towns. Any ideas? Miami is out of the question.

the ST. Petersburg or Madera beach area is real nice, its on the Gulf side.

South of Jacksonville is fuckin nice, and they are starting to build some nice communities a little off the highways.

My cousin seems to like the Daytona area alot. Ft. Lauderdale has been OK to me, but real estate prices are out of control.

Destin is awesome, clear water, good nightlife..........its kind of a rich area so your gonna need money to actually live there, but beyond that its awesome. LOTS OF WOMEN, its something like 4 to 1 up there. Daytona is ok, thats about all I can say about it. Ft. Lauderdale is nice as well but also pretty expensive. Jacksonville has some nice areas to it, the surrounding area is real nice. Tampa is pretty awesome, Ybor city has some pretty bad ass clubs and its not very far from Clearwater (30-45 min drive) which has pretty nice beaches.

Sarasota/bradenton but its kinda OLD..haha..too many old ppl down here..nice though

yeah sarasota is nice, but real old, and kinda expensive as well. Basically this place sucks when you are younger than 21, lol.

For that much money you can live in a damn nice house in Brandon. I don't know if you are familiar with Brandon, but Brandon is only about 8 miles from Ybor and 15 from downtown Tampa. 1 hour from Orlando, 2 hours from Daytona, 20 minutes from the beach... i have lived in jacksonville for the past 7 years and moved from tampa bay. Tampa is better, beautiful people and land. my wife is from daytona and edgewater. and i don't know what TonyGotSkilz is talking about. i have a blast down there everytime i go there. plus bike week and biketoberfest is the shit. edgewater. is a quite little town with nothing in it but close to daytona. and a few hours from miami. but don't move down here thinking that there is good riding. but there are some good tracks to have fun on.

My pops is building a place on the intercoastal in Oak Hill. Like 10 feet from the Edgewater line. That's a tiny little place dude. Nice and close to Daytona, New Smyrna and Ormond Beach.

I would never want to live in Daytona though. I think it sucks.

Daytona and Cocoa suck. Ft Laudy or Pensacola (Destin/Ft walton Beach areas) are the beautiful places to live. Shit, Pensacola doesn't seem part of Florida with their 100 foot hills.

I just moved from FL two months ago (15 year resident) and I thought the Tampa/Clearwater areas were dirty.
