i have an 02 600. I can clutch up in 1st with ease almost effortless. I have tried to clutch up in 2nd gear going about 25mph but the bike only lifts up about a few inches. So I was wanting to know is it possible to clutch up in 2nd gear sitting down without bouncing? I also would like to know if you can clutch up in 3rd while sitting down without bouncing? Im new to stunting so I have yet to learn how to do standups and bounce. So if anyone can help maybe tell me at what speeds to try and what rpms to try clutchin it to??

Get going a little faster, mine will clutch up sit downs in 2nd from 35/40 - 80mph, get your nuts off the tank and lean back, body position makes a huge difference. Personally I've never rocked a 3rd gear sit down, I'm sure it's possible, I'll give it a go and let ya know what happens. Once you've got the feel for ridin out 2nd start standin, it makes everything so much easier, once you've got the hang of stand ups you'll never sit down again!!

sitting in 3rd stock? if someone says they are, they are withholding something. Either a throttle blip with a clutch or some gearing or what not. Basically for 3rd stock u need to give her a good bounce with a quick throttling. Sitting I hear all the guys saying they can clutch her up. Personally, i always enjoyed a little bit of gearing. And its cheap to do.

I ride my boys 05 gixxer 1000 and even in third on that you have to give it a lil bounce. It will come up with clutch but you have to reach and grab clutch from hell to get it up. I just dont feel safe giving a 1000 that much clutch. So I can imagine with a 600 you will need to bounce. My 97 srad would come up in 3rd with no bounce at 45 but it was gear'd pretty damn good. good luck to ya

when you buy sprockets with more teeth than the stock sprockets that means bigger gearing..... more teeth give u more torque thus making wheelies easier to come off the ground under the bikes stock power.... u can also drop a tooth or 2 in the front to give u more torque...
-1 in the front is almost equivilent to +3 teeth in the back.

how will changing the sprockets effect the overall performance of the bike?

you will gain acceleation and lose top speed, well if u were to -1/+2 or something like that.

thats basically what it is

quicker accelearation, she'll behave like she has a little more attitude, the throttle will seem a little more responsive, and a bit more peepy when riding. Sometimes if you have a bit much and your low in a corner, you won't want it to be to crazy with your throttle. So just gear it some and add some more if its not enough for you.

hey, i've already gone one down in the front, but how much top end, approx of course, would i lose if i went 2 up in the rear? I don't even know what my bike tops out at right now, my speedo reads about 174ish when i'm at redline in 6th, but i'm sure thats wrong, it was somewhat off when i got the bike, and with the one down i'm sure its off even more. Oh i forgot to say, its a k2 600, all stock except the -1 front sprocket.

thanks,

what is it with you and 3rd? 3rd is just done because you can get it up and be not so high on the revs, or its not so touchy on the throttle. get it up in 2nd and shift to 3rd, or just get it up in 3rd at 65-75mph.

Its been a while - but its do able
