You take the 177 out of Superior or the 77 out of Globe ? Looks like a fun ride.

Climbak, the meeting point at the Mobil is in Mesa. However, we will be meeting up with some guys in Tucson on Ina Rd and Oracle, SE corner by the Walgreens, around 8:30-9am. This will be a rather large group and we already have reservations at the Ski Lodge for Octoberfest.

figures that an event like this happens and i will be up in phx for the weekend. since you are going to meet up with some locals, i'm sure they will share this same info. since mt lemmon is my favorite playground, a few pointers. by the time the group makes it up the mountain the pima county popo will already be on patrol, so while heading up (or down) make sure you watch out for camping/picnic areas or lookout vistas. these are all marked ahead of time. i usually hit the mountain @ 6:30 in the morning without problems. traffic will be an issue also but nothing you can do about that. in addition, at the windy point lookout (i believe thats its name) some engineer thought it would be cool to pave it with some slick stone crap (it is also marked ahead of time) and it is slick even in the dry so beware. anyway, enjoy the ride and maybe i'll catch up with you all on the next run in tucson or even phx.

Thanks for the warnings! I was up that way 2 weeks ago and saw only 1 LEO cruising down the Mt. Gave me the" I wanna pull your @ss over"stare! I remember very well the slick stone section you're talking about. It's not a good feeling riding over that even at a slow speed.

Since you live down in Tucson, when would be the cut off to ride Mt. Lemon? End of October? November?

Well, I just got back from Tucson 30 min ago. We had a blast and had 22 bikes that showed up for the ride. On the way up Mt. Lemon a few of us got pulled over by LEO but was let go with just a warning. He gave us a group pep talk about no passing and that was it... definately a cool guy in my books! There was moderate traffic due to the octoberfest event going on up at the ski lodge. Parking was free for motorcycles and the lunch at the lodge was good. Sure was tempting to drink the beer...
