i have been spending allot of time on a zx-12r forum and all those guys say that the 12's are faster than the busa. is there any truth to this? i know this is a busa forum but i am looking for objective answers. thanks guys

Nah, the 12's are fast, but the Busa is a little faster. The 12's feel faster cause they dont have the feel of a "sport cruiser". I've run up against 2 so far and I am in no way an expert rider, but still managed to stay ahead. Top end I think the 12's may take me, but only since the govt. didnt want me to cause a sonic boom when I crossed the sound barrier. Only mods to mine are pc, TRE, Full yosh pipe and K&N. Plus the polished wheels that make me go quicker images/icons/rolleyes.gif

They are only faster than a speed limited BUSA, If you have a '99 model you're all set. If not get a TRE and "pow, bang, zoom" you are now faster.

One of the mags did a write up on the 2002 12 vs. the 2002 Busa. They included top end in the test. Since both bikes are limited and both hit their limiter in the test, it is just of test of which limiter is higher. The 12 guys carry that magazine around with them as vindication!!!!!

I ride with a guy with a 12. He has the typical 12 mentality. One night we went out to the deserted roads for some roll-on fun. Leaving a stop light on the way there he got out of the hole faster than me. I proceeded to spank him up and down the county for the rest of the night. A gixxer 1000 was walking all over him too. From then on, all I hear about is that his bike won!!!! Ugh!

Dawg, talked to a guy htis past weekend. Loves his 12 but has been having clutch problems. Trashed 2 pretty quick. That was the only problem, you might want to keep an eye on it.
