All I can say is if you live in AZ you HAVE to ride this route. I finally got a chance to take a long ride and went up with a friend from work and that road is awesome and probably better during the week when there is less traffic. Only real problem is how numb and painful your ass gets after sitting on that seat for so long. Have to stop about 3 times total and should be good. For some reason on the way back, I was upshifting and when I got to 6th the damn thing revved like it was in neutral and then I kicked the gear again and ran fine. I hope I didn't roast some of my clutch.

Yeah, that's one of my favorites! I actually did this run this past Saturday and the weather was perfect. Traffic wasn't too bad either. I was surprised that I didn't see ANY LEO's, especially going up Yarnell Hill. Next week we are doing Mt. Lemon which is another favorite ride. Glad you had fun iluvdagxr!

Be careful on Mingus Mt. The roads are a little choppy in the turns there! I went up there this past Sunday and there was a motorcycle accident in one of the turns on the back side of the Mt. The bike hit the guard rail and threw the driver and passenger off the bike. Traffic was held up for 40 minutes till they cleared the road.

I sure as hell hope they didn't get thrown over the cliff. You'ld never survive that fall.

to jerome and if you want, we can continue up to flagstaff and back down the 17. If not we can go Jerome and up to Sedona and back that way. I know the road to Jerome is twisty and I've heard the road up to Sedona is kinda twisty but I guess we'll see if you guys wanna. Should be back down by 2pm.

OK - some people on the PSC (Phoenix Sportbike Club) are asking about our plans, I assume we are heading up to Jerome through Wickenburg, up through Prescott and into Jerome, cross over I-17 and down through Payson back into Phoenix to avoid I-17 traffic on Sunday? Is this half-way correct? Twisties near Yarnell between Wickenburg and Prescott are the best in the state. Just need clarification for the guys on PSC. A few may join, the majority are riding Firebird Main on Sunday.

Dragon - me 2, just got the Pilot Powers, they are VERY different from the stock Bridgestones. This will be a test run for me to get use to them. They handle totally different.

I might be showing up for this ride. I'm trying to get James to go... the ride back through Payson is much better.... and more fun! You're going to like this ride through the spars Derek. We can stop off in Prescott for lunch and continue on to Jerome. Going to need your energy!!

We can acutally do both, if those that want to leave and get home earlier can take I-17 and the rest can take the 260/87 home through Payson, the way I'm taking if I make the ride. We'll just have to take it easy going up to Yarnell since the po-po's are watching for us... after that... it's all open!

Yeah, I am definitely going to be there, I love the spars. Take it easy on the way up through Yarnell, once in the spars, open it up and hope we do not run wide on some of those 90's. I am down for the 16th to hit up the spars, I was not very impressed with jerome but I am down for whatever. I will bring a map this time. I am pretty sure 260 leads into Payson. Next time one of us needs to take a few action shots in the spars. We can alternate off to make sure everyone gets a few shots. Lets shoot for the 16th, same station but go for 8am rather than 9am. Whats everyones opinion?
