gixxsexR 09-22-2005, 12:06 PM could be either why dont you just ask him. looks mint from the pics.
sprocket modified?
Crash damage, signs of burnouts (melted rubber over and in front of the wheel). Sure has some huge chicken strips, though - indicates new rider...
liquidsords 09-22-2005, 12:09 PM yeah i asked but he doesnt know.. he financed it for a friend and that person wasnt making payments so he took the bike back and is now selling it... when i asked he said he didnt know
TampaGSXR 09-22-2005, 12:12 PM I dunno dude....he could of had it street fightered and then put the mint plastics back on. or had a different set of plastics that he stunted in.
But that cage is MINT. Doesnt even look like its been down once. But if i was looking for a clean bike (one im not gunna stunt). I wouldnt buy it.

u see crash damage?
RyanSteeds 09-22-2005, 12:57 PM you moron...he probably got it...cause when i crashed my 2002 gixxer 750 3 years go, i had sliders on it..and when i was going 70 km/h they broke off like nothing..now with a cage..it's So much stronger..so im guessinghe was like me ..and wanted a stronger / more protective buy for his bike...and when i crashed my 2003 gixxer 750 last month it only touched the slider piece and the bottom of the bars...fuckin bikes a write off..but my sides were PERFECT..
so never know..but i still wheelies/burnouts/endo'd on it..haha didn't stop me..i just wanted to protect it..but im guessing he wheelies/rode hard..like come on..who doesn't
gimpsta 09-22-2005, 01:13 PM me?
I drag hard. If your going to do hard twisties and/or track days I personally wouldn't have a stunt cage.

Yeh.... i have scraped mine a couple times.... Not fun.
liquidsords 09-22-2005, 03:51 PM what about the sprocket? what do i look for?

No, but you asked for things to look for... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif As for the sprocket, it would be larger than stock. Doesn't look particulaly big, though... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
gixxsexR 09-22-2005, 06:00 PM yah the back looks stock from what i can see with size.. but the front, which you cant see could be 1 less tooth,. or even 2-3 if serious stunter
Padros 09-23-2005, 12:42 AM It doesn't look like a stunt bike, matter of fact it doesn't even look like a bike that's ever been thrashed. Look at it, big chicken strips, mint everywhere you look, clean rims, stock gearing, not a mark on the cage. Like really if it was a streetfightered stunter and mint bodywork went back on it to sell it, why would the person put on a new untouched cage??? Think about it. If I was trying to sell an x stunter I wouldnt put a cage on to avoid questions.
I'd treat the bike as not having been mistreated but like any 2nd hand sale, get the shit checked mechanicaly and you'll be sweet.

he coulda got new rubbers?? just cause there's ware only in the middle doesn't mean he's a new rider...moron..could be burnouts..but im sure he'd a got a new tire.
liquidsords 09-23-2005, 01:17 PM He said he spoke to the guy who was riding it and he told him he wasn't stunting.. btw the bike is an 05 750 w/ 1000 miles on it .. here is another picture

climbak 09-23-2005, 03:03 PM see if he'll let you take to a shop to have it looked over, shouldnt cost too terribly much. if it comes out clean snatch it, i would
No way in hell it was stunted. At least, not unless it was used by one of the best riders on earth.
Stock sprocket, no rash on: cage, sliders, can, bar ends, tail, tank levels, signals...
I'm sure you get the idea. Unless its got a new...everything...it has never been down, and most likely not stunted.
Uncle Shittypants 09-24-2005, 11:53 AM yah 1000 miles, that bitch is just now broke in
liquidsords 09-24-2005, 12:06 PM good idea I will ask that

yeah thats what I think also...the only problem now is that the bike is financed from the dealer and since his friend wasnt making payments, the bank is having a collection agency collect the money.. so if I pay him directly I wont get the pink slip UGHHH this is turning into a hassle
liquidsords 09-24-2005, 12:11 PM BTW he said he is 99% sure the cage came with the bike.. do dealers give that option of installing a cage?? i never heard of that before
RyanSteeds 09-25-2005, 05:18 AM well some dealers give frame slider options but i wouldn't say they didn't..but ya it's possiable..but it'd be buying it off of them so they can put it on..instead of him buying it and putting it on him self..but just cause there's no scratch or nothing doesn't mean he is the best stonder in the world..i rode for 3 years..and i dropped maybe once..and doesn't mean anything.just be care full of what he done..but it coulda been another bike so he coulda knew how to do it before?? it's easy..
ssteve 10-06-2005, 03:29 AM look for an extreamly glazed rear rotor. from the pics it looks clean.
crushalot 10-06-2005, 07:02 AM Looks clean. Bar ends are scrached though. Buy it. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/punk.gif
TampaGSXR 10-06-2005, 10:05 AM how much do they want for it?
Trouble 10-06-2005, 07:41 PM Didn't you guys know, for 2005 there was a memo put out that everyone should have LED's and crash/12 o'clock bars to be cool. I just left a bike night and saw about 35 scrape bars that have never seen the ground. And the LED's, oh lord, it's like Vegas out there these days
wheelburns 10-09-2005, 10:31 AM chciken strips for days i also noticed it the stock rear so i doubt it was highy abused
Cipherex 10-30-2005, 07:25 AM that looks like a stock bike with a cage added...... I woldnt think any body has done any stunts on it....

You have to pay off the collection agency directly AND ensure that the guy will give you the pink slip once you do pay off the collection agency. Sounds like too risky a gamble to me. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/plthumbsdown.gif By the way, who finances a bike for a friend http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/bs.gif ... I think it's a scam because if you pay off the bike you really don't have any legal recourse if he doesn't give you the bike or pink slip without a well-written contract.
