: I want to stunt...but..
OlsonsGSXR 09-20-2005, 02:33 PM hey guys i really want to stunt. i been doing half ass stoppies. and half assed wheelies. like i raise the wheelies up and ride them for a little bit..but they are really really twitchy and they scare me cuz i dont want to hurt my bike..stoppies arent real scary but then again i only birng them up half a foot. what im getting at is..what do i need to buy to make my bike hold up if it gets laid over or dumped over. i want good strong shit. thanks
OlsonsGSXR 09-20-2005, 02:57 PM and damn..i seen the pricess on those cages...and fuccck that...325 for a couple ofm etal bars??? i mean for real..what the hell
gixxsexR 09-20-2005, 03:28 PM well.. dont want to pay for cages.. then guess youll just have to shell out for new plastics at 1000 and levers, pegs, what ever else snaps off.
you have to pay to play.
seriously.. budget minded? take all your fairing off when you go for a session, get some real frame and swingarm savers - not some LED ones... cut off the tips off your levers..take off your can... etc
Nickmelon 09-20-2005, 09:19 PM just get some older bike to rag on or get a wrecked one, better yet if you can pratice on a dirtbike

Well dude dirtbikes dont help muhc haha i have a motoross background. sportbikes feel way different. lik ewhen i raise wheelies up...i guess since its high rpms the throttle feels twitchy as hell..its kinda scarey not cuz its twitchy. cuz i dont wanna hurt mybike haha
Sun Burn 09-21-2005, 02:46 AM If you don't wanna hurt your bike don't stunt. Plain and Simple. I like my gixxer so I don't stunt it. I like it to look good. I stunt the fiddy http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Some guys out there have pretty bikes and stunt but more often than not the people that are good have beaters.
OlsonsGSXR 09-21-2005, 06:02 AM Yea i've noticed that. haha damn..this sucks. I guess ill just take it slow
rog20VT 09-21-2005, 06:06 AM what Gsxr do you have?
a 1000 is impossible not to stunt, there is just so much power that ridden even remotely fast makes the thing wheelie.
if i didnt want to stunt id sell the 1k and get the 600.
the expense when crahing is for the fairing. 2nd hand clip ons and other parts are common now, but a decent fairing set can cost big money.
RyanSteeds 09-21-2005, 10:29 AM i'd stunt a 1000 or a 600...i had a 750 (perfect) i wouldnt care what bike i stunt..all the fuckin same..just dont be a bitch and be scared of crashing..
i had the free style ing. cage and it was wicked... don't like 905 cause the whole hit your chinns all the time im not a fan of...power cages are wicked also..but ya ..i'd rather pay 325??(even tho i got my free ing. for 250 can.) rather then thousands for parts.

a 1000 is good for highway stuff. But when it comes down to actualy stunting (slow stuff / spreaders / highchairs ect.... 600 ALL the way.
The 1k is too twitchy for slow stuff (atleast for most).... Thats why i picked up a 636.
Nickmelon 09-21-2005, 11:39 PM shit if wheelies were stunting i would be a hard core stunter, all i do is stand up wheelies, sitdown wheelies, and endos my best wheelie ever was about 1.5 miles long stand up but most of the time i only do about a half mile my best endo ever was probaly 170 feet but i usaly get around 90-100 now have bent forks and a front wheel frome a damn pot hole and i'm lucky to get 40 feet. i did do a crist once probaly never do that again, i tried a tank wheelie also i just don't feel safe not have a break to use (going to get a hand break) i'm no stunter at all i'm a street terriozer and i love the twistes, wheelies, endos, and just speed.
RyanSteeds 09-22-2005, 12:42 AM a wheelie is still stunting....
Uncle Shittypants 09-22-2005, 02:45 AM yah im too scared to do much on my 05 6ixxer, so ima try to save up and buy something to really stunt on

I have a extensive motocross backround too. Give it time, believe it or not, your dirtbike WILL help because of the strong need for throttle control on a dirt bike. I rock SLOW cirle wheelies on my 2002 YZ250 and with stock gearing on my 750, (I've been away from stunting though for awhile) and I can get 25mph cicle, just 1 though, going. Practice on your dirt machine. If you drop it, WHOOPDEEFUCKING DOO!!! Thats what dirt bikes are for.
