I was having a debate with a friend. In the long run, if a Viper and a Hayabusa (both Stock) were to race on a straight, flat, long-ass road, would the Busa be able to keep up with the high end power that a Viper puts out? Of course, the initial acceleration would fuck the Viper, but what would a roll on from, say, 70mph, be like? Just curious...

The stock 'Busa would destroy the stock Viper.Bet the house on it.Viper GTS-R w/460hp does a 12.5 1/4 mile@118.5mph,and tops out at 185.The 'Bus goes through the 1/4 at 142-145mph.Think about it logically:the 'Busa will top out at 195 in little more then a mile.The Viper is only going around 120mph in a 1/4 mile.The 'Busa already has a 20-25mph lead going.The Viper MIGHT do 150 after a mile or so,where as the 'Busa is already topped out after that same distance.Once the car reaches 185,there is no way he will EVER catch something already going 10 mph faster a few miles in front of him,and steadily putting distance on the car.

Thanks man, that reply was informative. But you gotta admit, racing one would be fun as hell! Apart from the fact that I wouldn't have the balls yet. I just started riding SuperSport bikes 2 months ago. Not too long ago, I passed a Viper and I looked over at him and I thought to myself: If this guy starts gunning it, I don't think I'm gonna even try. Plus I'm on a 600 and his roll-ons would wreck me!

Is it hard to take of speed limiters? And if you get pulled over and a cop wants to know if you've tampered with it, how the hell can he check? Does he have to impound it and take it to a shop I guess?

You can eliminate the speed restriction on 01-02 by installing a T.R.E. Basically,this "fools" the bike by telling it that it is in 5th gear.There is no way for a cop to know(unless he really knows bikes)unless you lift the tank and he sees it plugged into the wire loom.Then again,if you get pulled over going that fast,you have much more serious things to worry about!!

This post couldnt come at a better time, just got the 'busa put back together yesterday, and today I came up on a brand new Viper GTS withs ome Ernest Hemmingway looking guy driving... I wasn't trying to race him but he rolled it on from 30 or 40 and I gunned it and caught him in about 3 seconds, then at the next light he didn't even try... Viper isn't shit for a 'Busa... My avorite is knowing I spent $60,000 less, for more... graemlins/yumyum.gif

On a straight highway they are useless (did ya watch isle of man?) But in a city with the slightest turns they are all over you.

i beat a 94 viper today on my gsx-r 600.
the viper was yellow and we all know that yellow cars are the fastest.
we didnt go to top speed though.
kinda hard to do, cocky bastard was like reving on me in traffic, we almost got far...

The helicopter will pass 135mph, it's the pilot that won't <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Got nothing to do with the pilot, just common sense. Most rotorcraft are not stable past that speed, has to do with rotor blade stall.

Police helicopters won't go much faster than 125mph. You could out run one with any 600. The problem is they can climb and see far distances, and if you turn they can cut you off. But interstate with no radio a police chopper wouldn't even be able to come close to keeping up. Even a US military Apache Gunship will top out at 190mph.......

haha yea gravity, ive seen that one too, the supra missed a gear tho. its stil quite a feat to be able to keep up with a stock hayabusa, in a car i mean.
