Dose any one know what size resister is used in the resister mod (i.e. 15k-ohm etc.). Would appreciate the info.

15K for 6th gear.
6.8K for 5th gear (2001 only, limit derestriction)

Note that the TRE does not remove top end restriction on the 2002, although it will still function as a TRE (un-retards in 1-3).

Ok, so the TRE only works for the 2002? Correct? I mean with the 15k-Ohm resister or can they all use them?

2001 use the 6.8 so you get the timing advancement in 1-3 and you remove the 185 top end limiter
2002 can use 6.8 or 15 due to fact timing will be advanced but top end limiter is still tact

The PN for Radio Shack is: 271-1127 for a pack of 5.Im gonna make mine a switchable TRE.The switch PN i got is: 275-695.I bought all the wire and stuff for mine on sunday but i havent done it.I've got a great post i printed from here on the switchable TRE that JestersPlace posted.Couldnt find it but if you want it i'll scan it and e-mail it to ya.Or if someone wants to post it on here e-mail me and ill send it to you. images/icons/grin.gif
