http://www.gixxer.com/reviews/gsxr_rideheight_kit.jpg</p>ERP makes a nice little goody to adjust your ride height in the back. Why would you need this clevis with shims rather than just shimming the rear you ask? Well, gixxers handle better when you raise the rear and front. This will allow you more traction coming out of corners by making the swingarm angle a bit steeper, yet also allow you to get a quicker turn in. If you were to just raise the rear this would make it handle very sharp up front and possibly unstable, and twitchy. At the track this is certainly not wanted, and also on your favorite twisties. So, in order to keep close to the stock geometry (you want slightly steeper rake by going taller in the rear) you will want to drop the forks through the triples by a couple mm's to compensate for raising the rear. With a stock clevis you are very limited in how many mm's you can raise the rear. With ERP's clevis you can adjust your rear ride height from 10-30 mm's at the wheel. The ratio is 1mm at the shock =1.8mm's at the wheel. With just the clevis alone it raises the rear by 5mm at the shock, included is a 5mm spacer, and 5 1mm spacers. You can start with just raising the rear to see how you like it and if its a little too twitchy drop the forks through the triples a couple mm's. This will greatly improve handling. Using this clevis is a good alternative for a racer on a budget who wants good geometry numbers but doesn’t have the loot for an aftermarket shock, or for your back road racer who wants a better handling bike.

You need to take off you lower panels so you can jack up the bike from underneath. Get a block of wood and put it under your oil pan and use a jack to take tension off the bike so the shock can easily be removed. Or you can suspend your bike with straps from above. Have a friend help with installation. Take off the seat, and remove the shock mount nut. then take off the bolt at the top of the shock. Make sure to have the bike slightly lifted so this bolt will come out easily. Tilt the shock slightly rearward so you can remove the stock clevis. Try if first with no shims since 5mm at the clevis is a big difference. Torque the upper shock bolt to spec, and then torque the clevis mounting nut to spec also. You are done.

Nice job BMF...I've seen this thing. I think I MAY get one because when I initially shimmed my top shock mount I marred the threads a little from it rubbing on the engine mount.

You are exactly right. Seems like you paying $90 for some washers.

Looks like an awesome product even though the price is steep.. It will get me by till I can get that Ohlins shock.

I took the stock clevis from a 96-00 gixxer and it bolts right on to a new gixxer, adds 8mm of height at the shock. Definite improvement
to the 1K and these can probably be had cheap at a junkyard. The washers are 20mm ID X 33mm OD and also cheap, I believe mine were
2.5 mm thick. Just thought someone might be interested.

Might look the same, but I'd not be in a hurry to put LP on the end of my shock.

The LP one is backordered. I guess this one that is too expensive is the only relatively cheap alternative. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/punk.gif
