Tim Rattay starting over Alex Smith. Is Mike Nolan going for win now or is he going old school and letting his pick learn from the bench? We have a freaking forum let's make use of it.

i have a feeling he sat him just to calm him down a bit, and let him learn. Im sure by week 4 or so, he will be back.

I wouldn't be mad if he sat him for the season and gave him some time to watch the game. But these days you try to get a return on your investment early.

Based on his preseason, he should be sitting. Rattay is a descent QB and could do well in the 49ers offense if he could stay healthy. Smith looked lost whenever I saw him out there.
