im pretty embaressed about the times but it was my first time ever on a track and a new bike. 96 degrees and so humid you could cut it with a knife but here is my best time.

1.88 60ft
6.92 1/8th
112.4 mph
10.44 1/4
141.6 mph
i guess i need to learn to launch better. made 8 runs and they were all 10.5 except this one. temp was shitty but i think all my lost time was in the first 60 ft. i was shifting about 12500 every gear and i was going to 4th. the bike is compleatly stock except for a 2 inch drop. not even a airfilter. will post better ones next time i hope.

later in the year you will pick up a few tenths due to lower temps, the humidity lessens power also, so 10.5 is pretty good first time out esp with stock bike.

at 40 degrees my bike hit 10.73 @ 131 last night was mid 90's 10.93 @ 127, heat and humidity do make a huge difference, both times at the same track.

guy was there who goes to san antonio raceway, his times were .4 slower at the temple track than the SA track. Track location and surface quality make a difference.

stretched / lowered k5 1k hit 9.87 @ 141

if this tells ur anything. when we went to San Antonio raceway it is usually .2 slower than Houston Raceway. in summer its like .4-.5 slower. the correct Density Alititide according to the computer was 4800ft couple weeks ago when we were there. really depends on conditons anywhere, but heat doesnt help. im ready for some cooler times myself.

10.40's isn't bad at all for your first time. I see 1k gsxr's at the track often, most are doing high 10's low 11's.

Obviously they're good for a lot faster than that, but that seems to be the average skill level out there.

i ran 11.00's and 10.9's on my r1 at 138+ lol, theres your skill. im hoping this gsxr will be easier to launch, but i need to make it to the drag strip.

black, what are ya 60' times mid 1.9 to 2.1

there is a huge difference in stock height/suspension and lowered

i had 1 60 ft of 1.89 and the rest were usually 2.0 or high high 1.9's.

i can only imagine how big of a difference lowered vs stock. i have no desire to lower my bike though, i like the handling http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Perry,get an air shifter instead.....
If you launch the bike real hard(like you should be)it's damn near impossible to ride out first gear and get your foot onto the shift lever to bang second gear....
With an air shifter, you can drag your feet on the ground to help control the imminent wheelie and punch the button on the bars to grab second gear, instead of fumbling with your foot trying to get in on the peg to shift before your shiftpoint, tagging the limiter,or worse yet, cutting gas....
Also, both feet on the ground will help stabilize the bike while the front wheel is in the air, trying to get one(or both)feet on the pegs tends to upset the chassis and has the bike veer off to the side.Again, you have to cut gas to straighten out,and thats the last thing you want to do http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

i didnt get the dynojet quick shifter because you have to buy the ignition module. would have spent the same amount for those 2 as would have for a air shifter. so instead i bought a 2-7 inch stretch kit. i just need my rear wave rotor, chain, and extended brake line. cant wait for the track to reopen. im in ga so i still ride very little.but it was 60 the other day so i went out for a little bit. bike will be in the shop soon to do my clutch mods and bolt on the extensions and also do a -1 +2 (16,44). maybe ill get to post some good times next time.
