Shane Byrne told me he typically ran 195's for aprilia, and I saw Vale's tires in 2003, which were also 195. i remember it was either a 55 or 60 sidewall. Front tire is 16.5 inches as coyn statted.

I know WSBK run 190, 195, or 205

I assume MOTOGP run 195

I think Dunlop is the only company that makes 205 slicks that I know thats available to the public racers. But who knows those guys get so much free stuff from vendors.

last year at fontana all i saw were 205+'s..

I'm not sure I'd take advice on anything but crashing from Shakey Byrne... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/rotflol.gif

I'd say the numbers quoted so far are accurate on some tracks. I'm pretty sure they bring several different sizes for each track then determine which one to race with during testing or practice.

doesnt matter how fast they turn in if you cant get on the throttle as soon as you can with a tire that has a larger contact patch.. you can set up your geometry to make it turn in faster anyway..

BMF, i wasnt advocating the 180's. just remembering the heated discussion here
some time ago about the benifits of the 180 some were preaching..as if 99% of the people here would know the differance..
