do you measure chain slack while the chain is cold, or after a run? the chain seems tighter after a run due to heat expansion. thanks

either or.. the difference shouldnt be all that great.. and just push on it to measure slack.. you dont need to physically try to stretch the chain to measure slack.. i run close to 2" of slack..

2" is alot. Gotta be noisy when engine braking. I stick to the half-inch to 1" area. It aint rocket science, as long as it isnt singing because its so tight or jumping teeth from being loose, it will be fine.
