Does anyone know how to, or can point me in the right direction to derestrict a Gixxer 1000 on a 2004 plate????

Are you talking US spec or European?

US spec isn't "restricted" in the performance sense. I think you're talking about the TRE mod, do a search and you'll find all the info you need.

I've read about people purposely getting their bikes in EU restricted to a certain output. Not sure how you would go about reversing that.

This device tells the bikes ECU that it's always in 5th gear so it removes the bikes top speed limiter which is set to 186mph indicated. If you are talking about some other type of restriction, this will do nothing for that.

the difference is switched vs unswiched (you can turn it on or off manualy) or automatic, which automaticllay turns it on/off

Bottom line, what this guy is talking about is completely different from what the TRE/JSD does. In Europe they restrict your bike I think when you are on a provisional type of license. Restrict is HP-wise.

If it's true that there are physical plates blocking off the bike then that plug in module we posted links for will do nothing for this, you have to physically have that block off removed.

US spec ECU and wiring harness would be a good start. The JSD is to remove the speed limiter and ignition retard in gears 1-4..... not increase hp of a restricted bike (like a French model).

And please do not spend the cash on a Ivans TRE....... buy a JSD from the gixxer.com store as you will be supporting this site (keeping it up and running).
