Okay, so I got this great deal on a new set of Gilles adjustable rearsets yaesterday. I installed them last night and thought they were great. well on my way to work today after trying them out for the first time I lose the shaft that connects the shift lever to the transmission. I guess I must not have tightened the nuts enough and it vibrated loose. I guess you could say its my own fault but it still pisses me off that now I have a useless shifter. Im waiting to hear back from the manufacturer (in germany) for a replacement part. Who knows how long that will take. Does anyone know where I could get replacement parts from? Or know anyone with a thrashed set with spare parts? Im gonna use loctite next time!

can you use the stock one? If it needs to be longer or shorter just cut it and slip it inside a larger diameter tube and have it welded together. I have done that on my bikes before.

yeah that would probably be my " Plan B" if I have to.
Deejay I did blame myself I never said it was anyone elses fault but my own. Now im just trying to find a replacement

Use a vortex shaft rod should work on your rearsets. Also the good thing about Vortex is there made here in tampa, well odessa area. So if you place an order you should get it same day or next day. They do not allow pick ups!
This is why I tell people to buy Vortex or woodcraft rear sets just because crash parts are cheap and easy to get a hold of.

Thanks for the info Ibidu1. Im going to give vortex a call tommorow, altough based on looking at their website it might be a no go. The rod on the Gilles was female/female. All of vortex' shift rods seem to be male/male
