SNAKES! There is alot of wild life around here, and it's common to see ground hogs, skunks and squirrels out on the road. But yesterday I was out for a ride and came upon a farily large snake curled up in the middle of the road. It occured to me that this could be a real problem if I hit one in the middle of a curve (instant slick spot). Anyone ever hit a snake while riding on the road?

I came around a blind curve and had 3 turkeys standing there staring at me. I also had a deer come out and start running down the road next to me. Like so close I could almost touch it. Didn't know if I shoudl speed up or slam on the brakes.

Damn, I never thought about running over a snake. I rarely see animals on the roads I ride, except maybe an occassional squirrel around my campus and where I live.

Last time I went to Deal's Gap I actually ran over a freshly pre-flattened one and yes it was scary. I almost lost the front end but thankfully didn't.

running over snakes isnt as bad as running over the greasy toothless sister-fuckers that live in kentucky. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I haven't had any trouble with those running out in front of me or laying in the road, but either one could take you down.

This was the first time I almost hit a snake, but I've almost hit ducks, geese, ground hogs, dogs, squirells and possums. The possums suck because the won't get out of the way even if they see you coming. They are like a big stupid rat and we have alot of them here.

Yeah, I ran over one last summer. In the middle of a pretty sharp curve. It was a dead garter snake. Felt my front skip out, my heart too. They suck.
