: Would you call this guy a squid/poser???
SPL170db 08-09-2005, 03:42 PM So on my way home from work in my cage I noticed an older 929RR on the side of the rode and some guy getting ready to pull away. He comes up behind me at the next light and I get a good look at him: T-shirt, jeans, sneakers, no gloves, backwards baseball cap with a Nazi helmet on top of it. Wearing designer sunglasses and all the while smoking a cig to top it all off. How the hell does someone smoke a cigarette at speed on a bike, not even highway speed. Wouldn't it blow the ashes into your face? I was biting my tongue trying not to laugh at the guy, while still feeling great disdain for him as well. I prompted me to rush right home, throw on my full suit and hit some twisty backroads. I felt OK after that.
Darwin will probably take care of him http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wait.gif
Suzuki Duke 08-09-2005, 04:24 PM I used to know a Hardley rider that always smoked cigs while he was riding. He'd light one up while he was stopped, then smoke while he was riding somehow.

Windshield?
I smoked on my Goldwing all the time. I actually bought a cop-style half-cap helmet to suit the leisure of the bike. I still wore riding pants, boots and gloves, but no full-face helmet.
The ash is not a problem usually and even on a bike w/o a windshield I could smoke without issue at highway speeds.
Chillywater 08-09-2005, 06:13 PM i have a built in gravity bong in my full faced unit....can't beat it for those long road trips when you just want to get stoned

If that weren't practically impossible to create, that wouldn't have been nearly as hilarious.

Sooo... you're hoping for death here? Wow. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wtf.gif
SPL170db 08-10-2005, 05:19 AM I certainly wouldn't wish death upon anyone. I don't think thinning the heard is the point. I'd rather the guy just wised up a little. As I've said, only about 10-15% of riders I see actually do it for the love of the sport itself.
itchin2 08-10-2005, 05:24 AM To each his own, he's just doing what he does. His skin, his choice to make. I just hope he has been made fully aware of the nature of potential injuries. I wear gear, but to be honest sometimes I like the feeling of being without. No gloves, leather, underarmour, it feels great. I dont go without long pants, sleeves, full face. I have a skull cap, but refuse to wear it. I like my face where it is. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
supertech 08-10-2005, 08:47 AM done it a few times myself.

JB05GIXXXERSIXXXER 08-10-2005, 03:56 PM I tried the whole cigarette thing once, didnt work. I couldnt even make it out of the parking lot. The wind blew it straight out of my lips. I guess some people are more talented than others.
Chillywater 08-10-2005, 06:09 PM come on guys lets figure out how to rig up a built in gravity bong in the full faced helmets....blaise you've got to have some ideas......anyone read high times? remember the "dankalantern" from a long while ago.....i'll just say one of my friends was the inventor of it, and i've had the honor to hit out of it, theres got to be a similar concept with a helmet lol
rraiderr 08-10-2005, 06:15 PM I would call him an organ donor.

Seriously? I saw some chick eating corn on the cob in a car, and I thought that was pretty stupid.
SoSl0w 08-11-2005, 07:17 AM was on my way down to the beach last week and saw a guy wearing a chrome half helmet and a jason mask on. Laughed and didn't think anything of it. I always laugh and shake my head at those guys wearing half helmets and such. Even if i'm right next to them. Its funny, why not laugh?
jetmech_25 08-11-2005, 09:58 AM Ahhh, is this a poser post or a smoker hater post? Most of you guys should move to Cali, you'd fit right in. I used to smoke and ride all the time when I lived in a good state that had no helmet law. I smoke while working on bikes, cars, or whatever. I'd smoke while gettin laid if the wife would let me. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/bitchslap.gif
The gear thing is kinda rediculous too. Does everyone put on full leathers to go to the corner store? I dont even wear mine unless I go to the canyons. It's a bitch walking around like a ninja turtle all day. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif
Grandevil 08-11-2005, 10:49 AM I smoke while working on bikes, cars, or whatever.
http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif And people say riding without gear is foolish. What if there is a gas leak or other flammable fluids ...what if you got them on your cig hand?!!?
Rev. Intrigue 08-11-2005, 10:55 AM Ok.. I designed a grav bong for the helmet for the dude who was asking about it (tobacco use only):
http://www.gixxer.com/uploads/gravbnghelmet.JPG
As you can see, you need to use TWO, one-way valves. The one with the green only allows the smoke to enter the mobile portion of the gravity bong. The tube-end only allows smoke OUT of the gravity bong.
The wire goes to an ignition sorce to make fire, or something like that.
When you pull up with the tobacco ignited, the smoke enters the mobile-chamber due to the vacuum being created. When you push down on the mobile-chamber, the smoke can only exit through the tube do to the one way valve on the chamber's tobacco end.

What if I was stupid enough to grab the header pipe while the bike was running? http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif OMG, you guys should work for those girlie men at OSHA.
