Will a battery from a 2005 gsxr 1000 fit a 2003 gsxr 1000?

i dont know why it wouldnt, go look at a microfice to see if it is the same part number to be safe though

The 05 battery is slightly smaller. As long as you go 05 -> 03 you should be ok, just not the other way around.

I remember Suzuki talking about the 2K5 having a smaller battery as part of the weight savings.

Actually that's something we do in race bikes all the time. Since there aren't lights, you don't have as much power draw, so you can get away with a much smaller battery.

The 05 1K battery is 0.2 amps less than the 03 1K battery. Not a huge difference either in power or weight, but it's about an inch smaller according to Yuasa's specs. However it should work just fine, provided you aren't running a ton of excess shit like radar detectors and mp3 players and crap.
