I have the pitbull convertible rear stand, it works great for me because sometimes I have to work on bikes that don't have spools. I still haven't got the front stand yet, just too much $$. The price is the downside to pitbull stands.

Check out Checkered Flag Motorsports on here, he makes a nice looking set that's pretty affordable, I think it's $100 for front and rear. I'll probably just get a set of his before I get the matching pitbull front.

What are those stands that have been advertising "even a 12yr old girl can use it" or whatever LOL and then they have some little girl model they show lifitng the bike up with the stand.

I forget the name of them, but they are even more $$ than the pitbull stands.

Homemade stands are the best. Stronger than you average stand and cost about 20 bucks and a few hours to build. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/punk.gif

This is going to open a can of worms, but oh well..

What exactly is it that would make you feel any other brand of stand is inferior to PB?

Now don't take offence, I'm just curious.

Everyone has a preference, I'm just wondering if your statement is like the "Ford vs Chevy" or Nike vs Rebock" type or if you actually have any real world experience with both brands.

Thanks Scott

Welp, for me it the Construction of the Pit Bull stands...keep in mind I have a Suzuki and Graves stand, the Graves goes for 150.00...for the rear stand, when I compare it to my Pit Bull "new front stand", the construction is obvious, and imho much better, tubing is thicker, wheels are about the same, and you can get the Pit Bull for less $$$...figure that one out.. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have seen other stands, and while some are pretty good, i.e. the Woodcraft I'd still buy the PitBull..

not sure if that answers your question or not... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

how can you really compare which one is better? this is just like saying which exhaust sounds the best. It is too subjective.

i bought a set of red line stands over a year ago, never had a problem. Now for my race bike, im gonna give checkerd flag a shot.

as far as im concerned (and until proven wrong) get the cheapest ones. they all do the same thing, lift you bike off the ground

Do you have a stand that also can lift a bike that isn't equipped with spools? That's a big issue for me, my brother was too lazy to ever get them, and dad's bike dosen't even have mounts for them.

Yup, but some stands do it better than others....just look at the lockhart phillips stands..and the suzuki stands.

You dont need expensive spools for any stand. Just get a bolt and a small "hat" bushing (all of $2) and put it in there. But if your bike doesnt have threads for a spool, then yes there are stands out there but they are kinda unstable in my experience.

A couple years back I remember when everyone would bad mouth Pitbull. Anyway I’m pretty loyal to Vortex, anyone ever use their stands and spools?
