Hi,
Just moved down to Charlotte from the northeast. Riding in 90-100 degree heat with gear aint as much fun as it was back home in 70-80 degree weather, but Im sure I'll love it come Nov and Dec when the gixxer is still on the road not in winter storage. I'm in Charlotte. PM me. There are some decent roads around. But you are less than an hour from the base of the mountains where there are some real roads. I mostly just run the country roads around CLT and SC.

go get on 77 towards I40, go past i-40 and then go north on 421 off 77 towards Boone.....421 pretty much goes all the way right into downtown boone....boone has some awsome roads....some are scary but all of them are great....real twisties

Brini take 85 S to exit 17 which is 321 go North towards Boone (this is the other way to get there) go up about 10-15 miles to Lincolton exit 24(I think) of 321. Take road til it dead ends and that should be route old 18. There is a new route 18 that is less curvy. Old 18 is a two laner with a 35 speed limit with tight corners and many a driveway with gravel, but still fun. But old 18 runs into 181 which is four lane sweeper heaven. 181 takes you into Boone through the linville area. After riding that far you might as well head into Boone eat something check out the college chicks(that's where i went to school) and head to 421 N on the TN NC border. Shady Valley. It is switchbacks. I hear there are good roads in Ashe Vegas (Asheville) but I am not familiar with that area. Also there is the dragon in NC also. Have not been there yet though.
