Unreal Story Follows:

Myself and a few others get finished with the STT track day at Putnam and decided to get some dinner before going our separate ways. The only sit down type place around was Chicago's Pizza in cloverdale, IN. We parked our trucks and trailers in front of the building, walked in, and sat by the window (one way glass) where we could see our bikes. As we are eating dinner, a kid on a brand new K5 comes in the drive from US231, wearing shorts and a t-shirt, w/ tennis shoes and no helmet. He stops behind the first truck with an Aprilla literbike in the back looks at it and then starts revving his engine at it. When he finishes there he pulls up to my friends RC51 (race plastics) stares at it then revs his engine at it, Cannot figure out what it is I suppose. Next he pulls up behind my truck with my 1K2 and R6 in the back. Turns off his bike, gets off and walks up to my truck. He inspects both bikes, gets back on his bike, starts it, revs it, and immediately kills it when he goes to take off. At this point we have been watching him the whole time, and are laughing so hard, everyone in the restaurant is wondering WTF. Anyway, If any of you do things like this, please know the rest of us are laughing at you, and then cursing under our breaths at you, for driving up our insurance costs.

driving up our insurance costs

this statement gets real old after hearing it so many times, there are other things that raise insurance rates, inculding the popularity of the bike, the price for parts, how rare it is etc.

Maybe he had something wrong with his right hand causing it to spasm and twist the throttle. Its a pretty common thing called stupiditis. It can be treated by a track day ass whipping or public embarrassment.

I was just reading a recent issue of the BMW Owner's Association magazine. (I think it's called "On.") In it were results from the most recent insurance report. The K5 1000 is the most stolen motorcycle AND the most often crashed. This is of ALL motorcycles. This is why our insurance is high.

Sometimes when I whack it to much I will later get spams in my wrist causing it to rev the throttle for no reason when I am sitting on my bike.

I was glad this wasn't a "omg squid with no gear" thread, which it wasn't until this point. <sigh>

Dude sounds like a tard no matter what he was wearing. "Are you trying to taunt my bike or something??"

I've seen people do sTrAnGe things, but revving your bike at other bikes that are on a trailer? Maybe he was trying to wake up the other bikes so they could talk to each other... kinda like those Furbys.

I took that route late one night while I was trying to avoid....uh....some trouble that happened on I-70. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/bash.gif Anyway, went through Cloverdale and got down to the flashing light, hung a right. I ended up going by Lieber and coming back out on I-70 about 4 miles west (from the Cloverdale exit). Not a good road to be driving on if you are not familiar. My buddy lost it at the very first turn past the flashing light (over a little hump in the road and then QUICK left). I'd like to go back and drive it during the daylight some time in a "less-rushed" fashion.
