98Petey750 07-27-2005, 05:54 AM Damn! U gonna sue her?
VXGSXR 07-27-2005, 06:02 AM Did she stick around or take off like most cagers do when they pull out on a bike?? She should cover the repairs to your bike.
Last year I had a car pull out on me, so I tried to get around him. Ended up sideswiping the rear of the car and landing in a culvert. Guy took off, my bike was screwed so I couldn't chase him down (bastard). It cost me $1200 to repair my bike. I know how you feel.
easter bunny 07-27-2005, 06:03 AM Damn! U gonna sue her?
Sue her for what? He didn't leave enough following distance and wiped out.
VXGSXR 07-27-2005, 06:06 AM Man, I must have read that wrong! She didn't pull out on him, he just followed too close.
Damn! U gonna sue her?

Yeah - and in 99 out of 100 cases it's not "choosing to lay the bike down" - it's panicing and lock up the brakes so the bike crashes... When in most cases it could have been avoided by braking hard but controlled, then steering around the obstacle...
...been there, done that - both reactions... The latter comes with experience

+1... It only takes one "ohh shit" experience before most go out and start practicing hard emergency braking... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
GSXR1000K3 07-27-2005, 06:38 AM A typical example of death grip panic braking. It's not the lady's fault! Not one bit!
I have a dislike for tailgaters.

When MR old man ran the light happing to miss all the cars but took me out clean I snapped my humerous. Not a good bone to break. 3 screws and a bone grapht it is good as new. Though it does kind of hurt when I wack off. On the good side my gear saved my life and not a bit of road rash.
Tim_gsxr750 07-27-2005, 03:04 PM how come there are so many people crashing because...
"i had to lay it down"

They had to lay it down after they locked their brakes up and the bike ended up sideways. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Its either lay it down or release the brakes and highside at that point.

Embrassment over having made a squid mistake - if you brake hard, lock up the wheel(s) but let go fast enough, nothing happens - but you have to have praticed braking a lot or be damn lucky.
And sport bike brakes being so easy to lock up = one of the main reasons new riders don't belong anywhere near a sport bike... http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/plthumbsdown.gif
crawdog 08-31-2005, 02:34 AM I have got an 03 750 stock can if you don't have one by now.
Carnage 08-31-2005, 02:55 AM Well seeing how bikes stop 2-3 times faster than cars I can't see why anyone would rear-end one. http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif
itchin2 08-31-2005, 03:52 AM Bikes do not stop faster than cars....any comparison I have read has the bike coming to a stop many feet further than the car it was tested against. Much less contact patch to work with.
