I can't speak for hotbodies but I installed a mototeck on my '98 600 without any problems. Fit was very good.

I have the hot bodies on mine & it was not that hard to install.
I ended up cutting the stock under tail like the mototech instructions say to
otherwise there is a large gap between the cowling that replaces the back seat & the tail section.

In this next pic you see the 4 odd looking stock panhead screws, get rid of 2 on the bottom
& replace the other 2 with regular panhead screws, that way they are flush against the plastic.

When I wired up the lights I cut the stock wires off the turn signals & wired them to the LED lights
so I could plug & unplug them easy if I need to take it apart again, same with the tag light.
There is 2 tabs on the Hotbodies that tuck in between the sub-fame & the black stock plastic that had to be trimed
to get it to fit up in there because of the way the frame is made.

In the pic below is my set up,the 2 crome lights are LED windshield washer fluid lights.
The tag mount is the stock one placed low on the undertail & the tag is bent a little to make it look right.
The tag is visible from 50 feet away(SC Law) so the po po will be happy.

If you are looking to have it installed, I wouldn't go to a dealer. If there is a custom shop in your area, try them. Sometimes they deal with companies that carry the undertail your interested in and will sell it to you installed for the same price or not much more than you can buy it online.

I got the hotbodies undertail. it was a pretty straight forward install. You remove the fender...and then you pretty much pop in the undertail and wire up the turn signals. You have to drill to install your license plate though...that's the only thing I didnt like.

Go with mototech I have one on my k5 600. You don't have to cut anything at all. Just crimp 6 connectors and are good to go. If you are in the Orlando area I could help you if you need it. Also know of a local shop that could get it from that would cut you a good price. Same place I go mine.

I have a k5 600 as well, if there's no cutting or modification involved I'll go with the mototech. I don't feel like cutting into my brand new bike. thanks for all the replies why do the mototech and hotbodies eliminators look the same are they the same thing just sold by different companies? Any more pics on how to install

Moto tech install instructions say to cut the stock undertail, click on the http://www.mototeck.com/english/img/b_icon_installation.gif button at the bottom of the product page. If you choose not to cut you will have a large gap between the tail & the cowling.Looked like shit with that big gap, thats why I cut mine.

i just installed a hotbodies undertail and i have a quesiton. when you turn on the signals it turns on and off really fast. i know that it is because of the fact that LEDs take much less of a load then the filament bulb. the thing i dont know is how to fix it. i know its something with resistors or something but im not quite sure. any help would be greatly appreciated.
