: Recommendations for back protector
Stets 03-14-2002, 06:16 PM After seeing the damage TLRman did to his lower spine after his get off last Monday I have decided to invest in a decent back protector and not rely on the foam panel in the leathers.
Does anyone have any recommendations or comments, good or bad, about
- Dainese
- Knox
- Bohn
- Teknic
- Other ?
Thanks
Hammer 4 03-14-2002, 08:05 PM Welp...I have the Spidi, but imho the Bohn, or Knox is a better way to go.. images/icons/grin.gif
Drizzt 03-14-2002, 11:49 PM dainese and spidi make a good back protector, i know my dainese dirt bike armor, which incorperates a dainese back protector has save my back soo many times, from flipping bike doing a steep hills, to low sliding around corners images/icons/smile.gif
Code Blue Chick 03-15-2002, 12:22 AM Jason (from the ride) has a Dainese one, cost round $320. Just make sure you get the right size as his g/f wore it once on a ride, and she ended up having neck pain, headaches etc as it was too long for her.
rodman 03-15-2002, 01:41 AM Bohn pro-racer. It takes up a little room in your leathers, but protects your spine, kidneys, and shoulder blades. Well worth it in my opinion. You can get in at http://www.kneedraggers.com for $159, I think.
torquemaniac 03-15-2002, 05:35 AM Get the Kobe vented back protector (http://www.1888fastlap.com/kobe_fastlap_vented_back_protect.htm) from MarMo for $69. It's comfy, won't take up a lot of space in your leathers, and is extremely durable. Best bet for the money, IMAO. I've got one and I love it.

Ericsson 03-15-2002, 08:05 AM I would go for the Knox if it fits under the leathers as they are somewhat larger than some of the others. I would not buy the Bohn (pure principle) since I think that only a dickhead would mark the stuff as CE approved when it actually isn't (it might have changed though).

RADRB8 03-15-2002, 09:15 PM I have to agree with TOURQUE on this one ...He turned me onto the KOBE' and I like it alot!! Especially the price and Quality... It's just hard to get used to with the Aero Hump...But I still recommend it!!!
Stets 03-20-2002, 11:46 PM I ended up buying a Knox/Teknic Race back protector.
Apparently Knox don't import directly into Australia but the Teknic protector is simply a Knox with a Teknic badge on it and infact the waist and shoulder elastics still have the Knox logos
I also looked for a Kobe back protector but couldn't find one here
Thanks all for the opinions and comments
1Liter 03-21-2002, 01:05 AM ANybody have the teknic 7-link? I just ordered one, didn't get it yet. I noticed it dosen't have shoulder straps, just waist. It was like 40 bucks. Should stay in place with the suit on, I hope.
Motorscooter 03-21-2002, 10:51 AM Dainese BAP 2 with swivel............nothing better!!!!
